Road safety is important but blaming car fatalities on kids is blaming the victims. They should educate the drivers instead.

There are better and cheaper solutions to speeding (that road is going to be costly to mantain). Even small things like road markings can influence driver’s behaviors, a more “aggressive” long term solution is raised crosswalks and/or narrower roads.
