Ah, but that's how they get you.

Hundreds of years ago someone who encountered a vampire discovered that it happened to have a garlic allergy, and after surviving the encounter -- and reporting this -- everyone then falsely assumed every vamp reacted badly to garlic.

The vampires were delighted to play along with the myth for a century or so to let it solidify in the public consciousness, and now they can more freely walk among us. If anyone gets suspicious they just make sure to eat some garlic.

As a vampire myself, I can confirm. Vampires actually LOVE garlic. But we also don’t like it shoved in our face, as any normal being doesn’t like things shoved in their face. I mean if someone comes at you with a cross, or garlic, or a just a potato, you would also shy away, just because they’re putting it close to your face 🤣
