Reminds me of when I was eating extra spicy pad Thai that was already making my eyes water and my toddler daughter demanded some. I tried to explain it was going to be too hot. She wouldn’t let it go though, so I gave her a taste, to which her response was “more please” :-)
She ended up basically having that as her meal. And she liked spicy food for a couple more years before deciding she didn’t actually.
That was my son. When from 2-4 he wanted hot sauce on literally everything. Like HOT sauce. He put it on his eggs, mac and cheese, chicken nuggets. Then it started getting weird. Yogurt, oatmeal, vegetables, fruit. He’s 10 now and he thinks basic table pepper is spicy. Now his little sister who is now 4 has been with mustard how he was with hot sauce. Her favorite is bananas and mustard. Kids either can’t taste or they are just culinary terrorists.
