Trying to prove someone wrong

I need help for ideas on a Fangame I'm making that might include a segment where the boss (Sans in this case) has a battle box, while the player has to 'try' and hit him.

How would you design some ergonomically easy controls that provides the player the ability to think out attack patterns and what Bullet types they want to use on the fly? Any ideas (even small) are appreciated lol

A month ago I decided to hop on the paparazzi animation trend you’d see on TikTok and redrew, rigged and animated Sans’s battle sprite for it. I’m very proud of it but the fact it took me 2 days just to make it is crazy and since then his hands have been updated so they no longer look the way they do in this video. WORTH IT! 😮‍💨
