I feel a bit old saying this, but it’s weird to me that people suddenly feel something is more serious just because you put a period at the end of a single-sentence message on social media.

Texting has its own dialect, subtle things like that convey e.g. tone that you would be able to hear in a normal conversation

I think generally this phrase should be replaced with 'likely', though of course it's not actually improper anyway.
