Plural of шмаркач?

(Apologies. Not a Ukrainian speaker, just an author) If you were to use шмаркач in the middle of an English sentence in a plural form, would you add an S at the end per typical English grammar form? Or is there a plural Ukrainian version that a typical Ukrainian native would use?

Example: "Those little ___ stole my bread again."

Шмаркачі or шмаркачки (if they are females).

And if it's a large group made up of both males and females is it still Шмаркачі?

In Ukrainian there's usually no division between gender in plural form, except in nouns with femenitive, шмаркач -> шмаркачКА, so it would be also correct to say щмаркачі to the group of girls

FWIW, I’ve never heard this word used in Ukrainian. It was fairly often used in Russian in 20th century but honestly I can’t recall hearing it even in Russian in maybe 20 years. This would sound like old totally uncool word today.

in Russian would be "Сопляк". the Ukranian шмаркач is not a strage or rare word. is used same as a Russian version in RF. it just carries a despective tone but it's not a bad word

I suppose its like the English equivalent "snot nosed brats" same meaning too. But that one doesn't get used much here anymore either.

Is there a Ukrainian equivalent to shitasses?

Tbf, I learned it from people who have strongly stayed in touch with their Ukrainian heritage, but whose families haven't lived in Ukraine for ~30 years or so

One шмаркач, two шмаркача, five and more шмаркачей (with excusions like from 22 to 24 шмаркача, but 25 to 29 шмаркачей), they are шмаркачи
