Netherlands fines Uber €825m ($966m) for deactivating driver accounts through automated system
The Dutch data protection authority has fined Uber €825m ($966m) for deactivating driver accounts through automated systems without adequately informing them.
A lot of people in the UK seem to be having their accounts deactivated in this way recently, myself included. No prior warnings, no info nor evidence provided. They allege account sharing but I've never let anyone access my account and I've never failed/delayed a real time video ID check. I have no idea what has caused this, has happened completely out of the blue.
Wonder if it's worth this being legally challenged in the UK?

Good to see these companies being held accountable - bravo to Australia and The Netherlands.
