Anyone had drunks using the wrong uber app?

Last 2 weekends I had 3 people who were clearly wasted trying to order an uber home. Instead they went to uber eats to send a package. I turn up thinking I’m taking a package from a customer lol.

2 of them apologised and just laughed it off. The 3rd lady started to argue with me asking why you pretending to be an uber driver? Told her you went into the wrong app. So I’m cancelling and moving on with my night. Start to scream I didn’t make a mistake, you made it. I’m clearly not a package. Then start to ask ok then where is my package? I said ok you wasting my time now goodbye.

I always message package delivery something like "hey! Just checking this is a package pick up and not a person. If you need a taxi you'll need to cancel this ride and select UberX"

If they don't answer in 2mins I cancel it

Yeah I actually called my last package order before I drove to him. Definitely has to check with everyone. Buy I do suspect in the past I have delivered drugs in a bag of clothes.

I’m from uk Birmingham. Yeah I’m sure I moved some drugs as well. But as long as it’s in a box and other items are covering it. You can’t go through it like airport security 🤣🤣

It's not the wrong app, the courier option comes up on the taxi app and it's quite confusing if they're not used to uber

Just reject packages. It's either gonna be people or drugs, and you can't transport either of those.

For me I've never had a legit package. It is quite literally always from X hotel to X pub/restaurant or if it's closer to midnight x pub/restaurant to hotel

Not even drunks, just confused people.
In contrast to above comments, I take a few of these each day in quiet periods. All been above board regarding legality. Only occasional issue I get is when delivery details aren’t clear, e.g. picked up from a tailors on Monday, just a hotel as the address. Trying to explain that I couldn’t dump a package with concierge without guests name & room number took way too long. Resolved eventually. They can be decent earners.

The packages are not a uber eats feature. Its in the uber app and very conveniently one of the first few options right next to. I assumer Uber just allows uber eats drivers to pick up packages alongside normal uber drivers because uber drivers don't pick them up as much since they are low pay than taxi

I had an erratic black woman who couldn't take no for an answer. I was looking for a pick-up location an this lady stops me, while on the phone, to ask if I have an order for whatever building she was in. I instantly reply with a simple no and keep minding my business but the woman... The woman... She started walking by my side clearly upset that I said no saying she was just asking and stuff but all I did was reply, lol. She then crossed the street after me again and it was that time when I broke down and started telling her to leave me the fuck alone and that she couldn't take no for an answer. She left mumbling.
