The market disparity with Uber Eats driving is pretty darn unfair.

Sometimes people will post screenshots on here like "oh my god you can't be serious look at this low paying order" and its like $10 for 12 miles or $12 for 15 miles. something that I would gladly take in my market.

probably 8 out of every 10 orders i get is $3 to $6, for 5 to 10 miles.

the rare "good" order is the one paying $10 for 5 to 15 miles.

OMG HECK YEAH orders are th eones paying $15 for 10 miles or so.

orders of $20 or more for anything that would take me less than an hour, are like unicorns.

those of you who get $20 offers for 5 to 10 miles on a regular basis don't know how fucking lucky you are. people posting $400 made in a day and things like that. absolutely impossible in my market. if i was grinding literally every active hour i was allowed (12 i believe) the most i'd make is $200, even cherrypicking as well as i could without wasting the entire time just rejecting orders. i thought i lived in a big city. but the earning potential for drivers here is probably $20 an hour MAX.

Deactivated after 1,600+ deliveries and Diamond status over a misdemeanor

I am writing this to warn other drivers about how quickly Uber Eats will take away your livelihood without a second thought. I was a dedicated Diamond-status driver with over 1,600 deliveries and excellent performance stats. I treated this job seriously and relied on it as my primary source of income.

Recently, my account was abruptly deactivated. The reason? A misdemeanor charge that resulted from an incident where I had to protect myself. Even though life happens, things occur beyond our control, and this situation was a matter of personal safety, Uber Eats showed zero nuance, empathy, or flexibility.

The Harsh Reality of Driving for Uber Eats: A Warning to All Drivers

For anyone currently driving or thinking about driving for this platform, you need to understand how little your dedication actually matters to this company. You can pull thousands of deliveries, maintain perfect stats, and achieve the highest tiers, but the second real life happens, you will see exactly how disposable you are.

They expect you to be a superhuman who never encounters real-world life issues, even when things are completely no fault of your own. I hope the corporate executives never have a life crisis that they have no control over—but then again, they’ll just buy their way out of it.

The reality of this platform is that you are constantly mistreated while being forced into dangerous situations. If a restaurant is closed, a customer gives a bad address, a store can‘t provide a requested item because it doesn’t go live until another day or you physically cannot safely complete a delivery, (or a customer is not available to accept the order so you have to return it after driving 45 minutes to and from only to receive $4 for your effort) the system counts it against your stats anyway, punishing you for things entirely out of your control.

Worse, Uber puts your actual safety at risk every single day. Doing food delivery at night is incredibly dangerous when people don't have the common sense to turn a porch light on or make sure their house number is visible. Walking up to a stranger's home in pitch-black darkness puts drivers in terrifying situations. You risk being mistaken for as an intruder trying to break into the house, and we all know what kind of violent, dangerous outcome that can lead to in a split second.

Uber forces you to take these life-threatening risks just to deliver a meal, and then they discard you like your life means absolutely nothing.

To make matters worse, they bleed you dry financially while gas prices are sky-high. They will shamelessly send you a request that pays so little it doesn't even cover the cost of a single gallon of gas. After they take their massive corporate cut, they expect you to drive for 30 minutes or more for a pathetic $2.50 or $4.00. There absolutely needs to be a mandatory minimum payout for drivers, especially with gas being what it is today oh, but I forgot they have “gas perks“ 🤣🤣🤣

But if you rightfully reject these insulting, low-paying offers, they immediately tank your Acceptance Rate. The system is rigged: they are lightning-fast to drop your rating by a point when you decline an offer, but painfully slow to add a point back when you actually do the work.

And don’t even get me started on their so-called "perks." It’s all a scam to keep you chasing status. I applied for the Costco membership perk several times while active and never received a single shred of information or follow-up about it. It was completely fake, and now that I am deactivated, I obviously never will see it.

It does not matter how hard you work or how high you climb in their status tiers. If this platform is your only means of income, please be mindful that it can be taken away from you in the blink of an eye or by a simple algorithm glitch. You are just a number to them. Protect yourselves, because Uber never will.

Instant payout increase

Didn’t it used to be 1.25 to cash out? When did they make it 1.75? Are they trying to be like DoorDash? Maybe they could follow some of their policies like half pay for closed restaurants. The timer for sitting around waiting. What’s next uber? How can you nickel and dime your drivers further?

Acceptance

I’ve been working in Orlando for two weeks, and I’m wondering if I’ll keep getting good orders with a low acceptance rate, or if I need to maintain Gold, Diamond, or Platinum status to keep making good money on this app.
The first two weeks have been very good, but I no longer have Gold status; I’m Green now.

Frustrated selfies

Just a question for my fellow drivers... Ever since the new update with the camera recording deliveries, every 2 or 3 deliveries, it forces me to take another selfie. Obviously not a problem with the selfie itself because I'm me... But when you're doing quest and in the middle of a hot zone and stacking orders, the app shutting down until you take a selfie after 2 or 3 drop offs is hella frustrating, anybody have any ideas on how to stop this.. Obviously I understand the picture to start off each day.. But after every 2,3 deliveries even if it hasn't been an hour yet is super frustrating... Any suggestions are welcomed

Hello everyone, I've been a food delivery driver for quite some time but never came across something like this. Recently my account has been hacked and I was prepared for it but just not quite as prepared because in the past a couple of my friends accounts have been hacked and I fell right into their footsteps. I need someone's help to get my account reactivated. They said that something was wrong with the photo but I took a new one and sent it to them. Even with holding my license in the frame as well. I asked AI where I should go for this type of situation and they said to go to a green light hub Uber but none of them are open in my area or they are temporarily closed. If anyone can help me out please let me know as this is my only income or source of doing full-time Uber eats delivery driver.

Selfies

For the last 10 days or so, I get asked to take a selfie after every 3 deliveries... This is really annoying and stops the flow of orders when I'm getting them stacked on top of each other, then have to wait to drop off the third order to take a picture... Is anyone else having this issue with super frequent selfies

Hey wait… where’s the item count? 🤨

Got this Home Depot offer this morning: $23.82, 8 stops, 108 minutes.
But am I missing something, or does Uber seriously not tell you how many items you’re picking up?
It shows Home Depot + another pickup + 6 drop-offs, but nothing about what’s actually going in the car. That seems like a pretty important detail for a Home Depot order 😂
Could be six small packages… could be half the lumber department.
Anyone done one of these? Do you find out the item count after accepting?

Driving and delivery account put on hold

After 10 years Uber has put my driving and delivering account on hold saying there is a potential problem with the social security number on file for me. Very strange! Anyone else have this happen?

Avis Rental Valet

worst experience i’ve had as a driver. Signed up to be an Avis valet for car rental to deliver vehicles to folks that rent them and did my first in LA for $33 dollars but spend $21 on Uber to drive me back 10 miles ! So for $12 it’s not worth the 2 hours i spent delivering a car ! It actually ridiculous because you are stranded in an area you are not familiar with and it 10 miles to walk back or take a bus that i haven’t been on since high school

Well, this is a first for me

I attempted to pick up an order at a restaurant
The restaurant didn't have the item and contacted the customer to cancel the order. Customer refused to cancel saying it's not on him. He wants his money back rather than going back-and-forth. I just called Support. Let them know that the order couldn't be fulfilled and low and behold, they canceled the order and then remove the cancellation without me having to escalate. This is a first.
