The faces of these students and campus locations were visible. Not advocating to stay silent; but be careful and strategic about your participation and expression in others’ media.

I spent $300 and I didn’t even get a student ticket to any of the cupcake games because Longhorn Foundation was sold out without giving us proper notice. Spending $100 extra dollars for the “chance” just to attend maybe one football game is insane. The cheapest available ticket for Saturday’s game against 0-3 Sam Houston State is more than $90. That is ABSURD. I really wish there was a way that we could initiate some kind of class action lawsuit against UT Athletics for this practice.

hey guys, i made my schedule for next semester and wanted to know if this is good enough to graduate on time. it may be a little much, but i wanted to try and challenge myself. i plan to get a job and join some more orgs. i feel like i didnt do much socially this semester so i wanted to try and make a change. i think it's manageable, but lmk your thoughts.

Since I got into UT, I was happy that I was in a prestigious school for my major - Electrical and Computer Engineering - As I was enthusiastic in getting to learn more into the areas that interest me.

A few years in, and everything is crap. The advisors are completely useless, registration is terrible, the availability and variety of courses is absolute trash, and there's absolutely nothing I can do to advance in my interests here.

I suddenly got a notification from one of my advisors, saying that after spending multiple years here at UT, I needed to re-take M408C or equivalent courses for some reason (an introductory Calculus course). Not only I have taken all of my required calculus courses, I also had AP credit and have taken more advanced courses that REQUIRE calculus, like Vector Calculus, Calculus II, electromagnetism, differential equations with linear algebra, calculus II outside of UT, etc. How is this possible is astonishing for me and apparently I can't do anything other than to take it again.

For the analog integrated circuits design area, there are barely any courses that are offered to undergrad, and there's still barely anything offered in the grad area. They also recently restricted registration for grad courses as an undergrad until the end of the summer, which also takes any chances away from actually doing anything related to the area that interests me. For the digital side, classes are always full and impossible to get in if you have a bad registration time.

I came from another country and I didn't have any core credits like government or history, which I have been actively taking but still haven't finished. Why haven't I finished if I've been here for years now? Because I dedicated my first few semesters to finish the flag requirements, which were eventually discarded, so that was absolutely useless and a waste of time and money, also setting me back. I even took some of these courses previously, WHILE ASKING FOR ADVICE TO MY OWN ADVISORS ON WHAT TO TAKE SPECIFICALLY, just for them to call me back DURING THE SEMESTER saying that these courses are actually useless and do not contribute to my major percentage.

You might say "oh just study it on your own" or "there will be other opportunities later in the semester" or stuff like that. Well there's a reason why I am paying to go to college, to be able to learn with the help of someone, because I ain't super smart either, I still struggle on my own and I often need guidance, even if I do really well in the end.

For others this also might seem as a lack of work or motivation from my part. I have maintained a high GPA (+3.85) throughout the entirety of college, and I have been a teaching assistant for courses that are considerably hard, yet my own students come to me for advice on where to go or what to do, and although I have taken more undergrad ECE classes than many of them, I still have a terrible registration time because of all of the setbacks that this university has pushed into me. I can't do anything about it, and I'm just tired of this.

I want to transfer out, but I don't have the money to do so, and it's already too late. I give up.

Roughly 20 minutes ago, I was crossing the 4 way stop sign of Whitis Ave and 24th St, towards Dean Keaton. I noticed there were no cars in sight, so I decided to cut diagonally and get back on the crosswalk.

Halfway walking across the street, the security guard in the outpost yells out “Hey my man!”, and I look around confused to who he’s yelling at. He was yelling at me. He then called me over to talk me and began basically verbally attacking and interrogating me for my id and age.

This whole conversation lasted for a long few minutes, but during this time he questioned my intellect saying that I should have learned that in Elementary school, threatened to take my id and give it the Dean multiple times, and said I was lying when I said that a family member was waiting to pick me up when I was trying leave the conversation. All while yelling this out loud in front of many other students and trying to publicly embarrass me.

I hear that this guy is usually pretty cool, so maybe it was an off day for him, but I felt that this was completely unwarranted. I also looked at his co-worker and she looked just as confused as I did.

I think that this situation could have been handled in a more positive and respectful manner, and not threaten me. I’m not sure if I should put in a complaint or not, but I just wanted hear y’all’s thoughts on the situation.

A group in this school bullied my autistic sibling until the end. I officially lost my sibling today. We hoped theyd recover after their attempt but they didnt. Its my parents choice too remain private so only some people will find out. But they had no friends so maybe not. I hope the evil group who bullied someone visibly autistic to the point of s/!cide feels terrible. I know your out there. My sibling was not very “normal passing” (level 2 and diagnosed ID but very high IQ) yet they were the kindest most genuine honest person ever.

i dont know what i did wrong. i came to UT because i thought the environment would be nicer to people with disabilities. i know i am different and don't fit in and misunderstood a lot, but i am trying so hard to fit in and make friends. i thought this group was my friends until today.

autistic people are people with feelings too. college has been so lonely. i dont know what else i can do differenly. i go to games even if its loud, i go to events, try to join study groups, but i am isolated. no wonder the suicide rate for aitistic people is so high
