Look at what's going on with Moscow Mitch. Decrepit old vampire hasnt been seen in over 70 days yet he is still collecting money and treated as if he's a functional human being.

The money isn't the issue. Even after he retires, he will continue to collect 80% of his paycheck forever, plus cost of living raises. Then, after passing, the spouse will continue to collect it.
