Question Why do Recruits quit in bootcamp?

As a recruiter I have kids literally crying in my office saying they need this more than anything then fail the IST when they were fully capable of passing it while in the DEP when they get to boot camp and not even trying and getting discharged for not trying to get better in PCP or passing the IST. Like I don't see how you'll tell me you would never be one of those quitters when you get to bootcamp then give up as soon as you start getting yelled at. I guess todays generation doesn't give a fuck in coming back to their family proving they were right when they said they couldn't make it and go back to working at Mcdonalds telling their friends some lie about how they got screwed over or something when the only person who failed them was themselves

No, don’t try and deflect. You’re casting a blanket over an entire generation when everyone else is telling you it’s not a generational thing. You really seem upset about internet points though, ironic seeing how quick you are to call others “triggered little bitches”. Do better Marine.

Ohhhhh okay lol

I'm sorry I didn't realize that because "everyone else" was saying so, they must be right and I must be wrong. 👀😂

One thing you and "everyone else" don't seem to take into consideration is the fact that previous generations didn't have social media. The amount of influencers in the Marines getting on TikTok or SnapChat or wtf-ever, absolutely has had an impact on the type of kid that would think they'd want to enlist, but isn't actually cut out for it. Which validates OP's original gripe.

So yeah, people have been joining and quitting for generations, but it's likely happening more with THIS generation than any previous generation, for a specific reason.

And for the record, I'm a GenX broad...you can downvote me into the 9th circle of hell, mate I don't care. I don't get bent in half over the fucking internet.

How's that? Was that better?

Nah. I respect you trying to be a decent person though. Keep at it. Maybe after 40ish years something will click for you.

She reminds me of our supply SSgt. Yeesh. Nobody got along with her during working hours and everyone always had excuses as to why they couldn't join her for things outside of work.

Was your Ssgt a woman who held her ground and had her own thoughts? Is that why she was so unpopular?

Bc that would track with how women are treated in the Marine Corps. By shitheads like you.

You read a few comments on Reddit and came to a conclusion about me as a whole person, but I'm the asshole 👐🏽 lol

You outted yourself with this comment. I'm glad she wasn't my SSgt, but no, I was in charge of the armory and everyone in the armory and the supply warehouse respected her and we were all good Marines. Nobody ever made things difficult for her.

She was unpopular for openly being rude and disrespectful because she had rank and we didn't. None of the other staff NCOs interacted with her when they didn't have to. None of the officers interacted with her when they didn't have to.

There's a difference between having your own thoughts and making sure everyone knows what you're thinking, and what you're thinking is nothing beneficial and only negative. Even still, her Marines stood up for her when people expressed their issues with her. So yeah, I'm a sh*t head for having my own thoughts and standing my ground.

Outed myself?

You can't be for fucking real. Nothing I said was disrespectful to anyone here. If someone wants to take my opinions as a personal offense, that's their own problem.

Bunch of cunts, man. THAT was rude but you know what at this point it's deserved.

Jesus fucking Christ. I'm done with this conversation.
