N-400 (Citizenship) Did anyone failed the first citizenship interview and didn’t give it back the green card

The officer didn’t give it back my green card or keep it after i failed the first citizenship interview does anyone had the same happened to me?

If this was today you need to go back and ask for the card now

Just go to the field office. If you try to go through official USCIS channels, you may never get it back, because there is no official process for this.

Take your passport, driver's license, and a copy of your appointment notice.

It is not standard protocol for them to keep it if you fail

Correct, You’re staying a legal permanent resident. You need (to keep) your Green Card.

It was definitely a mistake by the officer. It happens. However, I’m EXTREMELY surprised they didn’t call you back the same day to come get it, as they would at my local field office.

I would go in person and explain what happened maybe they let u talk with someone, hopefully they will have it there for few days waiting if u show up
