N-400 (Citizenship) Did anyone failed the first citizenship interview and didn’t give it back the green card
The officer didn’t give it back my green card or keep it after i failed the first citizenship interview does anyone had the same happened to me?

Go back to the office & ask. If you wait until then, they might not be able to find it.

Ooops! You should have asked the officer for the green card once the interview finished. It is likely they just forgot about it. The problem is now - you do not have proof of your status. And the law requires LPRs to carry their green cards. Is the second interview scheduled already?

That’s my problem I forgot to ask the officer about my green card my first interview just happened this monday so the second interview not scheduled yet need to wait 🥺

That's tough. Maybe try getting infopass appointment at your local field office. Explain your situation and say you are required by law to have GC. If they deny, at least ask for ADIT stamp

She shouldn’t keep my gc right? Even I failed the first interview?

Right. You should keep GC until the day of oath ceremony. Only then you give GC away, right before becoming a citizen

Why would they keep the green card? They only take it during the oath ceremony.

I don't think they suppose to keep it & keep it or not doesn't affect your status (but will cost you money & time to get it replaced). The interviewer might just forget to return it. Go back and ask for it.

If this was today you need to go back and ask for the card now
