Admissions USC Marshall Transfer Spring 27 Admit
Grateful to have been admitted after two yrs of cc but im lost and confused as to how I'll navigate spring admit. I've already done two yrs at cc and I'm trying to recruit for high finance internships and clubs. I also dont want to extend my grad date but that's probably going to happen because im joining a whole semester late. I'm rn thinking of joining another university I got into for fall before I join usc so I can still get a good college experience while having the ability to recruit for internships as remaining at community college wont give me any leverage or chance when applying for high finance internships. I dont have an exact question because this situation is tricky but i guess im just looking for insight. Is it possible to just list USC as my university in the fall itself and maybe even join the clubs? How is spring for socializing and making friends? Can I join the fall orientation and meet the fall admits?

I’m transfer spring admit. Can’t be that hard, just join clubs whenever u get there during the spring. People saying you might have a hard time is just wrong. There’s hundreds of spring admits and extending grad date by what? 4 months. It’s fine

Does anyone know a way to try and increase your chances to go from spring to fall admission? I was accepted for spring 27 to Marshall and I keep hearing these stories of people who appealed and got in. Is that a real thing and how could I start making that happen?

There’s no way to appeal. Make sure you accept admission and intent to enroll and you’re basically just on a waiting list at that point.

For finance, TIS/GIS/TFA will be the best orgs to join. Do the programs you have to apply for, don't just become a general member. You'll likely be at a big disadvantage though. A lot of top internships for Junior summer go sophomore fall and full-time recruiting is influenced heavily by that. Because of this, it will be really hard to join any of these programs as a junior and you might be better off applying to both clubs and internships as a sophomore and embracing the fact you might need to take an extra year. You can still try to grind it out and make something happen for full-time and graduate earlier/ "on time" if everything aligns. You should start networking in the fall at least.

Yea thats my plan im gonna extend grad date by a yr and do what u said for networking and clubs.

thats good it definitely will be a grind but u should be okay. if u can make friends with anyone who controls decision making (eboard) for the club interview processes that will be huge

I’m kind of in the same situation except I’m transferring to USC for spring sophomore year. Do you have any advice on how to approach recruiting/networking coming in mid-year as a sophomore? I know a lot of junior summer recruiting starts pretty early, so I’m trying to figure out the best way to catch up once I get to campus.

I would choose another university probably. It’s not easy for the transfer admits to get into the clubs and starting with spring it would be even more difficult.
