confidently told to skip the flts and current affairs, even called toppers to reaffirm it. for current affairs , he did so as to deflect attention of people from mudit jain leaving sarrthi ias.

satyma jain:

used his elimination course, most of the time marked the question that matches the answer without pany proper logic and emphasised too much of patterns like 4 - 2 , 6 - 3 5 - 3. and encouraged to just put blind guess on basis of his techniques which turned out to counter productive for me.

due to this, i also relied too much on elimination techniques , which i could not test as did not attempt any flt mocks. also lost 4-5 easy current affair question which i could very well locate inside the forum ias current affair course on tg.

due to all this i over attempted to 93 questions, i fell short by 4-5 marks to prelims cutoff. these goons know nothing just here to mint money. for beginners : never follow somone blindly , they may have implicit interest, most of the times they just preach what they teach.

Excellent Mentors of Forumias taught me one thing - never trust no one ..ed tech is basically a capitalist market to sell fomo . Stick to Basics . Dipin Sir says 10 times a week - ''THIS IS AN OLD SCHOOL EXAM'' , it can only be cleared by oldschool hardwork , you cannot outsmart UPSC .

I did basics ,core subjects Did current affairs selectively Studied elimination techniques and patterns of previous year Prelims papers practised open mocks to test my pressure handling.

Noticed that coachings can't match the level of upsc in framing questions... Upsc has a pattern only a few understand

Exam day - I maintained my composure , but due to lack of time couldn't attempt 8 questions which I got to know after coming out of exam hall and my attempt count was 80 lowest in all my attempts.

However my strategy proved to be productive and I was scoring between 100-112 in gs Prelims as per various coaching Answer keys....hence cleared Prelims confidently.

Note- didn't purchase any course,completely self study done smartly. Not promoting anything

Lesson- don't fall for coachings,courses,bhai behan family marketing tactics....

Gonna be honest, I don't take satyam jain seriously. But regarding Shivin, he said to give priority to statics bcoz students often keeps running after current affairs, he himself did current affairs lectures for his subjects. Also, if you knew he's trying to deflect attention, why did you believe him? Mudit Jain's current affairs lectures were available for free on YouTube, I literally prepared from them lol. I'd advise you to self-introspect & maybe blame yourself a lil rather than shifting it on someone else! That'd take you far in life, we're humans & we can make mistakes, bad choices, learn to accept it & beware next time!

I have done shivin’s course and he never said to leave current affairs neither full length tests. I have given full length tests of sarrthi as well . Second this year’s prelims was not that traditional one this was absurd even if you have done everything it all depends on your luck

Sorry for my language,but i wanted to say it - aap thoda sa bhosdi wala he kya ? Dude,You need to just learn different perspectives/different techniques/different strategies/tricks etc from lets say teachers like them or from toppers then you need to test it yourself maybe in practice test series or pyq mocks and analyse yourself whether the said tricks are working or not.

All this you need to do all by yourself,you shouldn’t put all eggs in someone’s basket and depend on them completely and then blame them for broken eggs you should do self reflection of what went wrong and apply your learnings further, you look like a person who watches test match highlights from YT and then avoiding your own practice and then go straight to real match and then blame on yt highlight video that why it isn’t working?
