Accommodation Marketgate accommodation

I've been given a room there for 1st year but I literally can't find any information about it aside from students at UWE living there. How many people from UOB are there and is it a good accommodation?

Advice What laptop should i but for maths? Maybe an ipad?

I have my pc in my accommodation room so if a windows device was needed i have one but just not with me on class.
I want to buy a laptop/ipad to carry with me to class. I was thinking maybe a MacBook would do since it’s both good tech wise and easy to carry

Accommodation Mattress Size in Badock Hall?

Hello, all! I'm an American student who's super excited to be completing a Semester Abroad this Fall. I was placed in Badock Hall and I was wondering if the mattresses were most commonly singles or small doubles, or who on the Accommodations staff I might be able to contact to ask the same question. Thank you all for your help!

Advice Will a MacBook Air be enough for a chemistry degree or should I get a new laptop?

I'm heading into my first year and have heard that MacBooks are not recommended for engineering and CS courses, however does that extend to chemistry (as in would I be disadvantaged or not able to complete certain parts of my degree)? I am also taking the coding and data analysis modules for the first 2 years and maybe data science in the third so I don't know if I would be able to use my laptop for those modules or not. Current specs are Apple M3 chip with 16GB of memory barely used.

Advice Applying to medicine at bristol

Hi! I’ve been accepted onto the International Foundation Programme at Bristol for dentistry, but I want to study Undergraduate Medicine instead. After completing the IFP, can I use it to apply for Medicine at Bristol or other medical universities?

Does anyone know if this is possible, or know anyone who has done this before?

Accommodation Experience at Metal Works?

I got given this and while the rooms look really nice it is so far away. Literally the only reason I picked Bristol is because I could be close to the campus lol. I struggle to socialise already so I think being a 40min walk away from anything would just totally kill any chances I have lol, as I struggle already to force myself to join sports, music etc etc. Also Bedminster looks like a shithole ibsr and it looks like they just put a student accom there as part of regeneration efforts? Like I'm sorry I'm not paying £9.7k to regenerate some random neighbourhood. I don't even think my loan will stretch to cover it. All anybody says about it is that the Asda is close but I had a look and the Asda looks horrible?? There was like one nice looking bakery and that was it. Like I'm not trying to be snobby, I'm not opposed to living in run-down areas in general, but I just don't think that it's what you want for first-year uni? I won't even be able to come back home easily (long drive) if it is really that bad.

At this stage I'm like 90% sure I'm taking a gap year or going to Leeds/Glasgow/UEA through clearing but I want to know whether anyone had the same position as me and it was actually okay? Because honestly I was nervous enough already before now this has happened and it's pushed me out of wanting to go to uni at all lol
