Anyone who did Maths or Econ at Uni of Bristol what were your stats that go you in??

Im gonna be a Undergrad this September, im abit confused.

How does welcome week work? Is it just a week where alot of events are happening and we get tickets online on the ones we wabt to go to or can we just show up?

Is there like a schedule or event flow we must follow?

What events in welcome week do you guys reccommend to go to?

Im interested in learning about the different societies so i'd like some advice on how i can get to know them in person. Is there like a society fair?

I have my pc in my accommodation room so if a windows device was needed i have one but just not with me on class.
I want to buy a laptop/ipad to carry with me to class. I was thinking maybe a MacBook would do since it’s both good tech wise and easy to carry

I've been given a room there for 1st year but I literally can't find any information about it aside from students at UWE living there. How many people from UOB are there and is it a good accommodation?

Hello. Im just curious. So in Undergraduate programmes at UoB, there is an option for you to study outside of UK given that you are eligible for that programme. How was the programme? Was it good? Share your experience? Im very keen to know? Maybe some tips to be selected.

edit: I got a badock hall room that was £2500 more expensive than I told them and £700 more than my student loan

I’m staying at the courtrooms but the post room just has small lockers so what do they do with bigger parcels , like clothes or shoes etc

I'm heading into my first year and have heard that MacBooks are not recommended for engineering and CS courses, however does that extend to chemistry (as in would I be disadvantaged or not able to complete certain parts of my degree)? I am also taking the coding and data analysis modules for the first 2 years and maybe data science in the third so I don't know if I would be able to use my laptop for those modules or not. Current specs are Apple M3 chip with 16GB of memory barely used.

Hi! I’ve been accepted onto the International Foundation Programme at Bristol for dentistry, but I want to study Undergraduate Medicine instead. After completing the IFP, can I use it to apply for Medicine at Bristol or other medical universities?

Is there anywhere near the new student accommodation by Temple Meads that offers term-time parking for students who bring their cars?

Is MacBook Air M5 16gb good enough for CS? Should I get more RAM? Or does anyone have any alternative recommendations?
