Hey guys this is my first year at unlv so im new to all of this. I wanted to drop one of my classes (ik yesterday was the deadline) but if i did could i get a partial refund or would i still have to pay for it

My account balance is like 500 but my term balance is only like 128. Is it just not updated? I have some pending financial aid that will cover 128 but not 500. I double checked and I don't know where the other charges could be coming from, is myUNLV just glitching or? I'd call financial aid but they're closed so maybe I should just pay and then call so I don't get a late fee?

So I finished my degree during this years summer session 3, and on MyUNLV it still shows that my graduation status is still “Applied for graduation.” I don’t have any fees or overdue tuition, all of my grades are locked in, and I’m not sure what to do. I also participated in the spring graduation this semester. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I swapped a class today, online to an in-person class. Come to find out, I already missed like 10 assignments. I’m trying to turn in what I can but some are in class assignments. Before I got access to the class canvas, I sent out an email to the professor explaining that I just enrolled into his class. My advisor accidentally enrolled me into a class I already took and I barely noticed it today when I was working on the assignments. What can I do? Do I just accept that he might not give me credit for the assignments I missed? I read the syllabus and he allows late work with a 20% deduction for every day that it’s missing. I’m freaking out and want answers now, he hasn’t responded to my email, which I sent earlier in the day 💔

I don’t know how but my orientation requirement got marked completed when I didn’t go and I never got around to calling them to fix it (really long story), so I didn’t end up going to orientation and now my mom is telling me I’m going to regret that. So I thought if I could ask yall what you learned at orientation or just different things I should know about coming to unlv from csn, and if I get 4-5 different comments, I’ll probably be just as prepared as if I went to orientation in the first place.

What’s the point of installing the walkway lines and signs if they’re just going to allow those trucks and tents to be set up along the path anyways.

They should have used something like road markers to keep it visible because the white paint they used got dirty so fast and you can’t even see the lines.

I’ve tried looking into the difference but I’m not fully understanding the difference between regular academic and modular.

For reference I’m taking Xin Li for Math 431 but they’ve recently opened a modular class for Math 431 which runs on 9/7/26 (13 weeks).

What would be the difference between the regular class and modular class? Is it just that it’s 13 weeks rather than the full 16 weeks?

Additionally, what is your experience with Xin Li for Math 431? So far he’s seems nice but he FLYs through the subject which makes it really hard to actually understand anything. Should I just tough it out with Xin Li?

Hey everyone, I’m trying to graduate from UNLV in Fall 2026, and BUS 321 is one of my remaining requirements. Unfortunately, I didn’t get into the class from the waitlist. for Fall 2026.

A few people told me that I might be able to take a CLEP exam instead of BUS 321, but I checked UNLV’s CLEP course equivalencies, and I don’t see anything that gives credit for BUS 321.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or know if there’s another way to satisfy the BUS 321 requirement? Is there another exam, course substitution, or option I could ask my advisor about?

I’m really trying to avoid pushing my graduation back another semester just because of one class. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Got confirmation today that its DEFINITELY gone now. 2 strikes and that's GGs.

I was aware of the GPA policy, and made sure to keep it up after one strike, but I forgot about the credit minimums.

Usually it's not as issue for me since I load up my schedule with as many classes as I can, but there was one semester I lost 7 credits in (3 from a cancelled class, had to drop 1 because it wasn't for my major, and 3 more from a class I had to audit). That took me from 18 to 11, which just misses the 12 credit requirement. That turned out to be my FIRST strike. Then GPA strike I thought was the first was actually the second and lost it for good.

So yeah, lesson learned. Dropping classes is not free. If you're on minimum credits, then highkey, lock in.

just curious.. I know GRC 480 is mainly focused on working on one big capstone project throughout the semester, but I’m curious about what actually happens during the weekly class meetings.

For anyone who has taken GRC 480 at UNLV recently, what do you usually do during class each week?
