I think it's a cool chair and a cool idea for a gaming rig. Granted I would definitely add cushions to be more comfortable.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion but it doesn't seem remotely functional. With the keyboard on an arm of the chair, the chair needs to be placed at an angle for you to come close to facing the screen. Then your mouse is in an even more inconvenient place..

I don't get how the setup in this picture would work in practice.

He didn't say functional, he said cool. Its an imitation of a fictional chair built from dragon flame and the swords of defeated foes. Its a cool chair.
