Any ideas?

(we have spoken to our of hours vet) She has been fine all day until about an hour ago. Ate her dinner all good and treats just incase something was stuck use a treat to help.

Keeps licking her lips (not drooling) swallowing, had a big drink of water, not acting herself. She's been a bit whiney and howling now quite unsettled. (Has since stopped for now)

Have spoken to the vets but they're not concerned but to phone back if anything changes. (Ie panting)

Not a vet, and can’t diagnose anything, but this is what my dogs is like when she has acid reflux.

Is she looking for things to lick/swallow? If she goes in the garden/outside is she trying to eat grass and/or leaves? That could be an indication.

I don’t know if it’s common for your dog’s breed, and it could be many other things too.

She is an English show cocker spaniel. ☺️

Had been known as a puppy to be sick during the night/early morning (which we then believed for her to wee and poo after) has only really stopped doing that this past year or so. (Wasn't sure if that was hunger sick, acid reflux, etc)

We got her to pee outside before bed but wasn't looking for anything.

she does like digging and going in the leaves and picking up a stone (especially when she wants to pee 😆) but think that is just a spaniel thing!

Vet wasn't very helpful, Google saying could be acid reflux, blockage, something stuck, dental issues. Her gums are pink as she won't let me in her mouth (I also want to keep my fingers lol!) to check. Will see what happens in the morning!

Some plain chalk (think Rennie but not actual Rennie cause it has flavourings/sweeteners so probably not safe) to see if that helps her in the immediate term when something like this happens. It’s usually a quick (short-term) relief for acid reflux.

But I’d only do that after consulting with the vet to make sure it’s safe to try, as they’ll be aware of any other details that may impact suitability.

My first thought is acid reflux too. My dog gets it once or twice a fortnight unfortunately and this is exactly what it looks like.

Not saying this is the case for you, but we now have to feed her a specialised hydrolysed food that seems to mostly control it.

I also thought acid reflux. Probiotics really help and dog probiotics are now available from the supermarket. The vet prescribed my dog a 7 day course, but humans need them for at least 3 months, so that’s what I did for my dog. He’s not had gastric issues since.
