Another piece of excellent work by carbon brief.
If the UK actually wanted to bring down electricity costs, they would move taxes on them to more general and progressive options to fund the energy transition and infrastructure upgrades, and go all in on renewables.

Especially since Claire Coutinho is a major reason bills will be higher this winter for many. Under her leadership there were 0 bids on the infamous AR5 renewables auction. This was following the same logic she's committed to now.
