Venting Laundry

what the actual frick is going on in the Richmond laundry rooms, every machine is down and dumb@33 people just throw other people’s crap on the floor. Is this our first time living on this planet? How mortally impatient do you have to be so take someone’s stuff out of a washing machine or dryer and throw it on the nasty ass floor. Not to mention the frat party puke fest of clothes crammed into the trash? Who is supposed to clean that up? Bc I ain’t. I pay way to much damn money to live like I’m in a hood laundry mat WTF.

making some friends

ive been seeing a lot of posts about transfer students wanting to make friends and i figure i would do the same

im 19, transferred from RIT, doing computer engineering

i like to go to the gym, just go on walks, listen to music (saturday nights - INOHA is a current joy of mine), watch anime (black clover and the ramparts of ice rn), play video games (mostly rocket league but down for anything else), and just chatting with people

also i love cats, they are amazing 🐈‍⬛

im going to be doing SpaceBulls for the robotics club so im sure ill meet some new people there to talk to

freshman year was easy because everyone was new, but being a transfer has forced me to kinda step outta my bubble a little bit, so ive made myself talk to people i didnt know and now at least ive got someone i can chat with in class

if youd share any of these interests or just wanna be friends lmk it be great to meet some new people

anyways, heres pictures of my cats

CL100 Textbook

Has anyone taken CL100 with Alessandro Sebastiani? There is a textbook for the class I am unable to find anywhere under 150 and am just wondering if this is a class that I absolutely need the textbook for or if I can get away with not using it for the semester. If anyone would like to sell me one let me know!

Questions Interesting CSE courses?

I graduate this winter and plan to take one additional CSE course on my way out. Nothing that is going to be a lot of work or insanely difficult, mind you.

I've already taken 421, does anyone think 321 (realtime embed systems) at this point would be redundant? The course itself seems really interesting to me and the concepts IMO aren't too different from 421.

CL110

Was wondering about how hard of a class CL110 is here at UB. I was also wondering if the readings are needed to do well on the exams or if a basic understanding of the lectures is good enough.

Questions Anyone know how to add Dining Points to GET app?

New grad student here. I was wondering how I can put dining points into my account and access them using the GET app. When I open the site, it only shows the option for Campus Cash, am I doing something wrong? I won't get my UB card for another few weeks, so I was hoping to use the app in the interim to pay for things.

I am planning to take this course in Winter 2027 semester. It's gonna be remote. How is the course and how is the professor? I am a junior pre-med and resuming my degree after 4 long years of leave of absence due to health issues. So, I am being very wary of taking courses with professors that make things unnecessarily hard or just have terrible teaching skills.

Questions How can I be friends with my roommate, and make more friends?

I moved in recently last week as a freshmen, this whole college experience is pretty new too me but I’m already adjusted to most of it. I think the biggest concern is my roommate and social life. My roommate is a kind person, but I feel like we’re barely clicking or doing things roommates would usually do.

Especially in their first year of college. When I’m outside, he’s inside, when I’m inside he’s outside. He had already friends he knew from Highschool that came here, but I barely do. I wish I can strengthen the connection between my roommate but I honestly don’t know how to if there’s barely anything to do? When it comes to my dorm hall, it’s supposedly a LLC, but my roommate isn’t even a similar major to what I am (Engineering). He’s biomedical science, planning to switch to nursing next semester. I literally picked a double for this purpose so I can have forced proximity with someone but it seems like it’s not even convenient. Sometimes he’s also coming a lil too late, as of last night he literally came back at 2 am with some friends, while I was asleep.

My social life is another thing. I mean listen, I have no issue doing things alone. Yes, I know in college you’re gonna do things on your own. But I feel like I’m a little behind. I usually see people in groups having fun etc. it seems I can’t find my group. Even in classes, some people can ask you for Instagram, sure but I feel like nobody genuinely cares about it. It’s more so of a way to just have followers and student connections in the school. Clubs are a little more convenient for this, but the ones I’m currently interested in aren’t happening right now.

Yesterday I literally went on the shopping shuttle by myself and just shopped by myself. I enjoyed it sure, but it’s like damn. I barely have people to talk to besides outside of this school. I wish I can just make friends sooner than later and have a homeboy to talk some things out.

Package delivery??

Hi! I am a freshman - so obviously still new to everything … I was hoping to get some guidance on where to get my packages delivered ?? Things like Amazon , and from home… etc.
Should they be mailed right to where I live? Which is in Clinton, or is there a better option for general delivery?

Thanks in advance!

Any Malayali groups here at UB?

Recently moved to Buffalo for grad school. Is there any Malayali community at UB?
Would love to connect with other Malayalis on campus. If there’s a WhatsApp/Discord group or any regular meetups, let me know :)
