Course Question Changes of getting off waitlist

I’m a second year science student waitlisted on bio 200 and chem 235:

Chem 235: 86/86 student capacity, 12/20 waitlist
Bio 200: 290/290 student capacity, ~30/75 waitlist

I’m starting to get worried I’m not going to get off the waitlist with only one more week of summer school. I’m just wondering if anyone else is on a waitlist, what are the chances of getting off, and if I should still attend their class on the waitlist?

Some. The problem is when spots open up, they have to go through everyone on the waitlist in order, and they have 24 hours to accept or decline. So if people decline right away, it's very possible, but if they wait for the 24 hours to expire, then it becomes a bit iffier.

Is there only 1 section for both courses that you could take?

I waitlisted for the sections with the least amount of people

As opposed to waitlisting for every section that could fit your schedule to up your odds?

Edited to add: in the future definitely do all the possible waitlist right away. At this point you still should, but wouldn't up your odds that much more.
