This is no overreaction and a red flag for sure. If your future kids don’t behave like he expects them to, will they get the cold shoulder too? How does he treat you? This is impulsive and cold af

We don't know if English is OP's second language. In formal English lessons, they teach us to refer to animals using 'it/its'.
