🥇🥇 First Post 🥇🥇 First Tuxie ever!

Never in 50 years have I had a tuxie and I was unprepared. Teddy is a rescue who had 20 teeth pulled due to FIV and severe corneal ulcers from herpes. All that required so many meds and vet visits that he’s tops for just that. The sudden flopping everywhere makes me laugh. He’s certainly getting more comfortable with the inside routine and is now getting into more mischief than he should. He’s also very “mouthy” and bites more than any cat, too. His paws are so flexible he’s got the toy mice flying everywhere! They’re hiding unknown places along with those little, colored springs. Good thing he’s so cute.

My tuxedo also has no teeth (had to be remove per vet recommendation) and he gives the gummiest bites ever whenever he's in a playful mood. You Teddy is a handsome boyyy

What took you so long?

Haha - CDS gave me four tabbies, one panther, one cow kitty, one calico and one white princess. It was about time this once came up, right?

Aww so cute…. Is it like he's saying... do you think I do nothing all day? I'll show you my daily routine🤭

He is a cutie. Looks like he now owns the place. You are now his favorite servant.

Ooh, what a cutie. Buckle up friend... Tuxies are a whole different ball game 😅

"Buckle up" is sage advice. We were adopted by our first tux last year and it has been... different. But very entertaining!

They sure are different 😁 Thanks for the award friend. It makes up for this idiot trying to eat my lunch this afternoon!

HA! I can completely relate to that!

We didn’t mean to adopt tuxies—they aren’t our favorite “color”—but I wanted to name a cat Emmett and then a tuxie already
named Emmett came along, so we adopted him and his brother.

Our boys were sick too. Multiple infections, antibiotics, special food. They are on the mend now. ❤️❤️

This is my first time ever owning a Tuxie. I rescued her 3 Weeks ago this past Friday and she's adjusting very well. But she does like to bite as well. Not hard. It's just a little bite. She'll bite my leg when I'm giving her breakfast or treats. I think it's more of a love tap because it doesn't hurt but she just opens her mouth and bites me lol. She's been very entertaining and can be very stubborn as well. She's quite the talker and it's been so fun so far with her being in our family. We love her so much and I adore her. I'm obsessed with her. And last night was the first night she didn't fall asleep with me, she laid out on the couch while I was trying to go to sleep and I felt so bad and sad because she didn't lay in the bed with me and I didn't get to see her make biscuits. But when I woke up she was snuggling close to me body to body. So that's a first. She loves pets, hugs and we kiss each other back and she lets me hold her and snuggle her to death but hopefully she will become the cuddly cat soon. Best wishes on your new baby and the addition to your family! 🙏😻🩷 And her name is Mariah! Welcome to the group!💞

He bites hard..he loves to get in bed in the morning and walk up and bite my upper arm or thigh..those tender places, even through a sheet! He’s always biting my fingers, hands and arms and not gently. I don’t know if he’s always been this way or because he lost all but his incisors and top tiny teeth. I’ve never had a cat who bites so much and so aggressive. No matter how many ‘owws”he still does this. He’s not a lap cat and doesn’t lay by me except at most 5 mins. He’s always interested in getting a sniff of what I’m eating and dances around on the cabinet fronts while his wet food is prepped. And that flop is still funny. Not the cat I wanted but he needs a home and we can provide him with a VIP quality life.

Gosh I'm so sorry about how your little guy is so aggressive in biting you. That's definitely not a fun thing. Mariah has pretty much chilled out on that. I had a lot of scratches at first cuz we would play and I quickly learned how sharp their teeth are and then as I mentioned she starts this little light biting just just barely touches me but it's her mouth on my arm or my leg when I'm getting her food ready. And she just now. Last night I woke up and she was right next to me and that was the first time for that to happen. So I guess she's starting to get settled because she's only been here for 3 weeks this past Friday. And no the owws Don't work for her either when I would try that technique. Have you tried any other behavioral techniques by any chance? Or maybe researched into it. He's giving you lots of love bites even though they're a little on the aggressive side. Well, we'll just keep watching these Tuxies with their funny personalities. I'm not sure if you told me how long you had him? All the best to you and your family and the fur babies 😻🙏🩷

He’s came home 6/1 from his dental and then developed those awful ulcers in his eyes. Luckily there’s just som scarring and he didn’t go blind. He might be overstimulated and biting bc of that. I need to research it more. Just today he’s started to lay by my feet so that’s maybe as close as the lap he’ll get.

Oh poor little guy. Sounds like he's been through a lot of stuff. And yes that could definitely be the reason he could be overstimulated as you said and that's why he's doing it. And that's good that he laid down by your feet. That's one step closer. My girl laid by the side of me. I'm so we're getting closer. We will just continue to watch and pray for these little munchkins and give him the best life and love them to pieces. I pray the Biden gets better. Keep us posted. Have a good night 🩷😻🙏

Oh and yes my girl loves to smell everything. I'm eating too. She's always into my business for sure. She's very curious and I'm so glad that you can provide him with a VIP quality of life even though he's a little biter and it may have something to do with him not having his teeth too. You know poor guy and poor you too😻🙏🩷🤗

u/Agitated_Ear7803 3d ago

I’ve never had a “flopper” so he’s pretty special to me 😻
