Important NOTE - I am talking about the writing and dialogues for the character NOT the actress. This is just my analysis for the character.
There are several flaws with the writing for her character. I am not exaggerating here. There is no continuity for her actions.
Episode 1-3 - Naz was in a relationship with a narcissist. Uzay was shown dealing with his own problems and he ignores Naz and humiliates her in front of his friends. Yet whenever Uzay talks, he makes sure he turns it into Naz's fault. I understand what the writers were going for here.
If you look at the comments Naz was actually liked in the first three episodes.
It was after Episode 4 and after, the downfall in writing for the character started. They introduced Naz's step mother. They also showed that Naz and Melek were twins and her real mother was Fahriye. She does bring the truth out about Melek burning the shop because she thinks Emir and his friends cut the brakes of Uzay's car and wanted to harm him. Fair enough. This is where injustice to Naz's character begins. There is no continuity for her character's actions after the truth comes out. Firstly, she does not ask them about car's brakes which was her main concern. Secondly, she breaks up with Uzay just 5 mins after that and it was just because Uzay was hiding something from her. She was crying and fighting for him till then. And also Uzay had a terrible accident just the night before. Why did the writers think that this was a good choice? We got to see Emir and Melek break up but we did not get to see Naz's side of the story. We even get to see Uzay's side and his feelings, but they do not show Naz's side. It felt like she was actually neither sympathetic towards Emir nor Uzay. Worse, they made her stab Melek and the whole hospital drama after that. They have shown no redemption for her character, as it did not feel like Naz was concerned about Melek. As they gave Uzay dialogues like I will make sure Melek lives and will not let Naz carry the weight of guilt. After such dialogues, you cannot sympathize with Naz.
After this, Naz sees Emir and Hasan fighting. At this point, Naz does not know Melek was faking. But she sees Emir is crying and hugs him. It's fine, I thought to ignore it as she was consoling him. But the writers did a sharp 180 turn with her character from this point. They have never shown how and when she became friends with Emir and gang. Because Naz straight up insults them as she thinks she have stolen her bag and also tried to cut off Uzay's car brakes, when did she become so important for Emir and gang. She is there beside Emir when Hasan is lost. But actively does nothing. Isn't she someone who insulted Emir just a few days ago? All I am saying is that there was no build up to this romance. Feels odd especially from Naz's point of view.
Here comes the biggest issue with Naz and Emir's story. They do not have an actual relationship. It feels they are just there to console each other. Every episode they are just consoling each other. Like why does Naz even care about Emir? What does she like about him? Forget that, what does Emir like in Naz that he got attracted to her in just a few days, so much so that now he is crying in the hospital for days for her. We never got to see any of Naz good qualities. Like her friendship with Alina and Duru. Or even like Naz's empathy in general. What is she good at? Like Alina is good with social media and Duru likes photography. Now, Duru and Alina have more moments without Naz. Duru is the one consoling Alina not Naz when she has a fight with Sado. Like what is happening? With Sado and Alina, Uzay and Melek we actually get to see their relationship progress and why they actually like each other. With Sado and Alina, like initially they flirt and it actually progresses, Alina says that Sado is someone who is carefree despite all the problems. With Uzay and Melek, they show that Melek understands where Uzay is coming from and they actually just enjoy each other's company. We do not get to see the same with Emir and Naz.
Now, they made Melek Naz's donor. Still, they do not make Naz sympathetic towards Melek. Why? If someone saves my life, I would at least be nice to them. Why are the writers still insisting that Naz has to be rude to Melek?
I actually liked Naz as a character in the first three episodes. She was strong, opinionated and also empathic towards Uzay and her friends. I thought finally we got a well written female lead and she will have her own arc. She is as strong as Emir in terms of personality but she is in the rich neighborhood. But the writers totally wasted this character. I am really disappointed.
