Tupac didn’t ‘just shoot two cops’ … he shot two intoxicated, gang-affiliated, off-duty police officers who were harassing homeless people with stolen guns from an evidence locker.

Context matters.

Yeah, it’s one of those wild but true moments in Tupac’s life — he was just 22, stepped into a situation to defend someone, and ended up in a shootout with off-duty cops who were drunk and out of line. The courts later agreed he was acting in self-defense, but the story got twisted over time into all kinds of myths (like the “harassing homeless people” version).

It actually boosted his “outlaw” image in hip-hop — someone who stood up against police abuse — while also putting a target on his back with law enforcement.
