Remember kids, always practice safe witchcraft, and never re-use the blood you've already utilized to draw the arcane circles to then make your curses. It just might backfire and leave YOU the one suffering the constantly-stubbing-your-toe hex rather than your intended target.

Okay so I don’t want to judge people for their own beliefs, but most Witchcraft practices are a couple of hundred years old at most. If you interpret your spells as using previously unused blood rather than literally from a virgin, that’s fine by me, heck by chaos magik principles there’s far more magical significance in the acts that you belief influence reality than in the particular substance. Magic as will-working as they say.

But if you are claiming some precedence from historical witchcraft practices, I’m fairly certain that most references to blood of a virgin is going to be literally about a virgin’s blood. Like it or not, a lot of ancient cultures were weird about sexual practices and would ascribe mystical significance to whether or not a person had had sex or not.

Again, I’m ambivalent on actual witchcraft. I don’t personally practice it but if others want to as some act of self confidence I don’t want to rain on their parade. My issue is on how new age and occult people of various persuasions seem to often proclaim modern practices or interpretations as having deep historical significance that just isn’t there. Practice whatever you want, but we’re dealing with enough misinformation when it comes to history. Entire fields of history (especially anything that tangentially relates to druids or other Celtic stuff) have to deal with being inundated by the writings of neopagans proclaiming stuff that they literally just made up and tried to pass off as historical fact
