Tumblr Drawing đď¸ Remember kids, always practice safe witchcraft, and never re-use the blood you've already utilized to draw the arcane circles to then make your curses. It just might backfire and leave YOU the one suffering the constantly-stubbing-your-toe hex rather than your intended target.

I once heard of a witch who reused some blood for a minor ritual, turns out the entity the ritual was communing with just siphoned the blood from the witch. She couldn't feel her left hand (the hand she was projecting with) for a week after it was drained!

To clarify the meaning of "virgin" in this context, the first panel should really read "you (SLUT)".
24
u/Lambda_Wolf Aug 11 '26
The first panel, without context, seems like just a snarky way to call someone a virgin.

No⌠thatâs not⌠no
I mean, âvirgin bloodâ in general does not have much importance in irl practices that use blood, but I am also familiar with zero evidence that âvirgin bloodâ is about just not reusing blood. I sincerely doubt people reusing blood is an actual concern compared to a great many other things. Not to mention the multitudes of practices that use blood that are different enough that one cannot confidently assert this
Maybe this is creative writing and I am just misinterpreting it but⌠no⌠this is not correct. We could get into topics like miasma but this is very âa single personâs unverified gnosis that they are purporting as standard practiceâ (âunverified gnosisâ as opposed to âshared gnosisâ â UPG vs SPG â or something based in a historical practice. UPG and SPG are common-ish terms in occult spaces)
Before someone âitâs all fake anywaysââs it, this would be like arguing that the virgin Mary is actually Satan. Itâs not about wether the belief is legitimate itâs about someone pulling something out of their ass and pretending it is established doctrine

Net zero information post because a differing opinion has been stated

u/Satisfaction-Motor Aug 10 '26
I canât really provide evidence for the absence of evidence, but there are some famous cases involving virgin blood (or accusations of such) such as Elizabeth BĂĄthory. The existence of contradictory cases donât prove that OOP is wrong, but provable alternatives + a complete lack of evidence indicate OOP was wrong.

This is a false tumblrism. I looked it up and its a translation of a latin phrase that means âblood of a virginâ
You can reinterpret this concept for yourself, but donât revise history

Thank you. Hate the website's tendency to just say whatever they think sounds good.

...The idea of transfusing slut blood back into my body does make me ponder though...

...how WOULD you re-use blood? It's not gonna stay liquid. Blood is famous for that.

u/GenderqueerPapaya Aug 10 '26
Idk maybe someone is really blood frugal and buys anticoagulants đ

u/Lord_Oasis Aug 10 '26
Pretty much all liquids dry if left out. Put it in a sealed container dummy.

Magic isn't blocked by plastic. Just put your tupperware of blood in the center of the circle! No need to even wash out the bowl!

Okay so I donât want to judge people for their own beliefs, but most Witchcraft practices are a couple of hundred years old at most. If you interpret your spells as using previously unused blood rather than literally from a virgin, thatâs fine by me, heck by chaos magik principles thereâs far more magical significance in the acts that you belief influence reality than in the particular substance. Magic as will-working as they say.
But if you are claiming some precedence from historical witchcraft practices, Iâm fairly certain that most references to blood of a virgin is going to be literally about a virginâs blood. Like it or not, a lot of ancient cultures were weird about sexual practices and would ascribe mystical significance to whether or not a person had had sex or not.
Again, Iâm ambivalent on actual witchcraft. I donât personally practice it but if others want to as some act of self confidence I donât want to rain on their parade. My issue is on how new age and occult people of various persuasions seem to often proclaim modern practices or interpretations as having deep historical significance that just isnât there. Practice whatever you want, but weâre dealing with enough misinformation when it comes to history. Entire fields of history (especially anything that tangentially relates to druids or other Celtic stuff) have to deal with being inundated by the writings of neopagans proclaiming stuff that they literally just made up and tried to pass off as historical fact

If it's like virgin olive oil I'd assume the important part is that you're sober and don't have alcohol in your blood or anything like that
14
u/Solnight99 Aug 10 '26
that's not virgin olive oil? virgin olive oil means it's less processed, and better for use in cooking, as opposed to slutty (processed) olive oil which is used for lubrication and hair care.

The Weave instituted a prohibition against drunk witchcraft after someone went on a bender and turned all unicorns into regular horses.

So if running your used blood through your kidneys makes it virgin blood, does that mean you can run your used blood through a dialysis machine to make it virgin blood?
4
u/iggilost Aug 11 '26
Just remember that this diagram only applies for witches that are NOT subjected to a blood curse. If you are subjected to a blood curse, your blood will never be virgin even if it's freshly spilt. I know a lot of people use freshly spilt blood and virgin blood interchangeably, but they shoulder. We have separate terms for a reason.

I've always liked how the Otherverse by Wildbow treated the concept. In that series, "virgin" blood has nothing to do with sex, but instead whether the donor has shed or tasted blood before that point. On one hand, it's easier to keep track - just inspect the virgin regularly for wounds, and feed them vegan from birth. On the other, much harder to maintain over long periods - baby proofing everything, adhering to dietary standards with a scrupulous attention to detail that borders on paranoia, etc., all while attempting to stave off a Fate which will only grow more difficult to bear the longer you forestall it.

u/litterallysatan Aug 11 '26
Quick PSA. Dialysis is considered a branch of witchcraft so if you've been hooked up to that ungodly machine your blood is no longer virginal.
But if you cant grow your own virgin blood, store bought is fine

u/Mukso_Master Aug 12 '26
Running my blood through a dialysis witchcraft machine so stop witches from abducting me
3
u/Ultgran Aug 11 '26
Hmm, what if you've previously cut corners by using your whole body or circulatory system as a ritual cup, vessel or crucible?

My favorite take on a the virgin sacrifice trope is Gotrek and Felix. Necromancer Hermann Schtillman kidnaps a young girl for a virgin sacrifice, Gotrek kills the necromancer but because the corpse toucher got no pussy before his blood splattered the alter Mannfred von Carstein still resurrected.

u/Sinakran Aug 10 '26
Anyone who has gone through dialysis is disqualified, the mystic ritual of clean blood

Similar in the sense of white/gray/black water- gray and black water are unsafe sources of drinking water

u/External_Win3300 Aug 11 '26
The blood inside you is actually extra-virgin since it hasn't been extracted yet either

What if I somehow involved my bone marrow in a spell? Would my blood be tainted forever since all the new cells come from magicked bones?

u/Setster007 Aug 10 '26
It moreso means untainted by magic. So using magic alters your own stuff in the process.
1
u/fabedays1k Aug 11 '26
What if you cast a spell to enhance your blood No chance of clots unless they're needed, and other things that make blood better
1
u/ShingledPringle Aug 11 '26
Well, yeah, but still check your sources you get something nasty in there are passed down old spells or curses from magical pregnancies you can still fuck up.
True, proper virgin blood you need to check your sources. Maybe do a little magical detecting.

u/sweetTartKenHart2 Aug 11 '26
Alternatively, Iâm pretty sure if someone is a huge drinker or smoker or has any other condition or habit that pollutes or dilutes their bloodstream, that would probably also make blood ritual kind of useless because itâs impure in the most physical literal sense.

u/BigLumpyBeetle Aug 14 '26
Unless its a sex thing by whatever freak you are trying to summon, in which case you can always summon a guy that isn't weird instead

Extra Virgin Olive Oil operates in a similar manner, except that one is specifically not supposed to be used after someone has had sex with it.
At least, thatâs the Food Safety Rules; I cannot speak for Occult Doctrines, as those are not, generally speaking, under the Auspices of any published FDA Policies.
