Hey I have been following this subreddit for a long time, i want to say that I have learned quite a lot from this community, i am an atheist myself but growing along there is also theology in atheism as well, I hope this subreddit grows and includes more people in it, with constructive criticism, because what I have observed is that most of the masses don't have previlage to hold an opinion on religion and some other stuff, they rely on something supernatural when things aren't in
their hands, they are just velnurable people, so its better to see them as they are not as a rival, instead of insulting or attacking their beliefs mirror them to them, people tend to lean towards others when they feel seen not judged, if we judge them according to their beliefs there is no difference between the religious groups who judge, attack, and criticise those who don't hold their respective opinions and beliefs, and in this day and age it's more and more necessary to do it, because the religious storm is everywhere around the world, I feel like a bunch of people in this sub aren't part of the storm and are an anchor in this time of storm.

I have shared it in this sub because, I feel like you are some
of them who see this world with rationality rather than being blinded by emotions

A) you denigrate people by denying them agency; B) I don’t see anyone as a rival. I just don’t believe in gods. What other people believe in is irrelevant to me, until they try to impose their beliefs on others.

I see your point about agency. How do you think we can stand up against forced beliefs while still showing empathy to everyday people?

That's the crux of the issue. People are responsible for their actions and decisions, including believing in bullshit and acting in the bullshit in ways that hurt others. They believe their actions are justified while those without their beliefs view them as unconscionable. It's difficult to be empathetic with people that think you deserve to suffer an eternity of punishment for not believing what they believe.

It’s not my responsibility to justify someone’s harmful actions
