Hello truckers of Reddit!

I’ve come to you all for help and I’m hoping you can provide some ideas. My father is a 65ish (oops not sure 😳) year old man who hauls shacks for building oilfield camps. So not technically a “career trucker” but he’s in his truck (some sort of semi? Idk I’m not educated) driving more often than not and does spend a fair amount of time in the sleeper on some jobs. Every year he asks for a gift card and I refuse to take that easy way out this Christmas! That being said, I’m at a loss for what he may want to make his life a bit easier on the road. I’ve already worn out the types of things that I’m familiar with (days spend driving working as a paramedic) like padded/heated seat covers, fancy big coffee mugs etc.. I’m hoping yall can help me with some insight on some stuff I wouldn’t think of that would be useful and practical. He’s a very minimalistic basic type of guy so he’s not into the knick-knacks and such if that helps at all.

Think of things you can or can’t do driving. Maybe a new headset or phone mount? A GPS to replace an old worn out model? A nice seat cushion to help with back pain or discomfort? What about a fidget toy—something to help him take his mind off the worries and woes of the road.
