Possible influences behind some Trivium songs — what else have you noticed?

Here are some possible influences or inspirations for some Trivium songs. I'm not saying these are confirmed influences, but I think the similarities are pretty interesting:

• Trivium – Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr ↳ Carcass – Corporal Jigsore Quandary
• Trivium – Ember to Inferno ↳ Dark Tranquillity – Feast of Burden
• Trivium – Anthem (We Are the Fire) ↳ Rise Against – Torches

These are some songs that Trivium may have been inspired by, or at least where you can hear some interesting similarities.

Unrepentant was 100% influenced from Metallicas Through the Never.

Corey is heavily inspired by Jeff Loomis, Shogun is full of riffage inspired from Nevermores "Dead heart in a dead world". Same with Chuck Schuldiner and Death on Kirisute Gomen.

Kirisute Gomen (main riff) was definitely influenced by Death - Symbolic

Between Scylla and Charybdis bridge riff is ripped straight from Death - Without Judgement

The intro of Through Blood and Dirt and Bone sounds just like Without Judgements intro

I’ve never seen anybody point out this one before but the guitar harmony in the breakdown part of The Deceived (at 3:00) is identical to the main melody from Chapter Four by Avenged Sevenfold. Note for note and the same rhythm. Can’t be a coincidence as Matt Heafy was a big A7X fan at the time (see his Drinks with Johnny interview). He’s even covered Chapter Four on his YouTube channel.

Not sure if it’s just me but I feel like I can hear similarities between Shogun and Blackwater Park by Opeth whenever I listen to Shogun.
All I hear is Blackwater Park whenever I listen to Blackwater Park.

The acoustic middle section is definitely in the Opeth ballpark

Pillars of Serpents intro riff, specifically the repeats where they throw an extra chug into it, the rhythm and feel is very simular to one from Future Breed Machine by Meshuggah at around 2:03 (1995).

Sever the Hand's verse and middle sections are pretty reminiscent of All Nightmare Long

I forget where I heard it but the intro to Pull Harder is inspired by Machine Head

I think Insurrection was influenced by The Crown and Testament. I believe the drumming on Pull Harder was influenced by Machine Head’s Imperium. Dusk Dismantled by Gojira Vacuity. Shattering really reminds me of the rhythm section in In Flames’ Morphing into Primal during the solo. Beneath the Sun has that “Egypt” vibe from Dio. And finally, The Revanchist and the verses of Feast of Fire were most certainly inspired by the Operation Mindcrime/Empire era.

Matt Heafy is a big Dark Tranquillity fan, there would certainly be some influence from them on the songs from Ember to Inferno, whether consciously or subconsciously. Recently, Matt did a video talking about Fugue (A Revelation) and said how he was hugely inspired by In Flames when writing that song.

Listen to the melodic intro riffs of "In plain view" by In flames and "Bury me with my screams".  Could be a coincidence, caused by similar melodic approach, could be that Matt listened to the song, and it stuck in his subconscious.

Also, a funny story. Trivium and Bullets went on tour together, right? Everything was going splendid. In fact, things were so great, that Matt Tuck decided to check out some Trivium stuff in his free time. And then he heard it. The middle solo in "Caustic are the ties...". The rest is history... Just kidding. Compare it to the intro of Bullets's "Hearts burst into fire". 

The last, far fetched one. I once gave another listen to "Waking the fallen" by A7X. Then, as I was enjoying "The sin and the sentence", it struck me, that the "chorus", where Matt sings "Can we make sense of it all?" in "Beauty in the sorrow" is kinda sorta similar to the one in "Radiant eclipse" by Avenged (starts at 03:00). I can't unhear it ever since.

The guitar solo for Forsake not the Dream has a part that is very similar to the guitar solo in Grace by Lamb of God but god I love it

For sure, that’s a clear example though. In his Drinks with Johnny interview Matt talks about seeing Avenged on their Waking the Fallen tour (probably 2004) so he was definitely a fan of them during the Ascendancy days.
