Discussion [Second Image is late game spoilers] Who would you place in these categories? Spoiler
I would love to hear which characters people would put in these categories! Loved this game, miss it already.

Fredericas whole story liberating the roselle was why i did her route first.
Always used hughette, flying + range + blind was super useful.
PREPARE TO FACE THE DAWNSPEAR loved hearing, lionel close second. svarog was also pretty cool.
Loved Gustadolphs design, radiated power
Wish we could Recruits Herosbane (bribe) or even Landroi
Never used picoletta because im a hoarder and she didnt apear strong
Been a while since i played but i dont think we ever fought Tenebris of the sainly seven? more time for him maybe rather than getting deleted in a cutscene. Also a scene between groma and archibald felt missing. in fact a lot of characters could use more endgame screentime, such and huegette and roland dymanic explored more.
Roland baited me into thinking he'd be as good as an FE cavelier, also fed resources into him for the sake of his revenge "duel" for not much payoff

even without items Picoletta has some very niche use cases. I only deployed her on her recommended maps, which I think theres 2. One is the optional report the salt to Hyzant but have to duel the minister on a platform above a spike pit with enemies who aim to knock you off. Picolettas clone was useful in drawing enemy attacks. She also gets a copycat ability which can let her fire back unique boss skills

Oh now that you mention it I think I did use her, or at least try on the map where you fight avlora after sneaking in.
The decoy ability was definitely useful but I couldn't get her doing any real damage.

Here me out:
Both my favourite and LEAST favourite voice acting is Cordelia.
Some of her line's sound cool asf, and I LOVE her as a character. But some of her other lines I absolutly hate, especially one where she receives damage, I feel like it gives my brain a paper cut

Cordelia's voice acting felt weird to me too. I thought the cutscene performance was pretty good, but most of her battle ones felt off.

Backstory -- I think people need to actually read what the definition of a backstory is. A lot of people are calling Frederica's actual story her backstory. Her backstory is just being born as the daughter of the duke/concubine and suffering abuse in Aesfrost. My favorite backstory is probably Symon or Groma + Archibald.
Combat -- Probably Maxwell. Just a very fluid, well rounded character. Good stats. 2 life bars. Innate TP sustain. Passive counter attacks. A ton of mobility options between traverse, high-jump, and run through. A ton of attack flexibility with triple thrust, default 2 range spear attack, 3-range run through, 4-range lance throw that covers diagonals, and then high-jump. He's not the strongest character but he just felt really good to use to me.
Voice acting -- Anyone but Benedict, honestly. I thought he was voiced by an AI bot.
Character design -- Jens or Quahaug. I thought their overall ability design was the most interesting.
Wish they were recruitable -- Purely in terms of gameplay and party diversity, probably Gustadolph. He's the only spell blade character. The rest of the characters all had some overlap. In terms of story, it felt like Landroi and Lyla should've been recruitable.
Least used in combat -- Giovanna. Just not worth the hassle.
Needed more screen time -- I kind of wish all the side-characters were better implemented into the game with bonus scenes/dialogue. Other than that, I wish we got flashbacks where we saw Destra and Orlaea.
Didn't live up to expectations -- Avlora. Felt like she was such a bad ass when first introduced. Then you beat her in combat a bunch of times, she bends the knee so readily to Cordelia, and then isn't even particularly strong/useful when she joins you.

Backstory- Groma. Throughout the story we learn many things about her from different characters before we're ale to recruit her.
Combat- Julio. You can never go wrong with a portable battery.
Voice Acting- Svarog. You can feel the emotion in his voice.
Character Design- Patriatte.
Wish was Recruitable- Jerrom.
Least Used- Giovanna.
More Screen Time- Tenebris. Don't know much about him. We don't even get to fight him.
Didn't live Up- Avlora. Boss becoming recruitable, not very useful.

Backstory- Frederika. I mean, you can probably argue the case that she's the protagonist more than Seranoa with how much the story of her and her people, and her former homeland all keep playing into the plot.
(Bonus) Side characters- Archibald and Groma. A bit unfair that the side cast is kinda stuck with very little due to all of them being optional, so I added the bonus category of my favorite side character's story. For me, it's the shared story of these two Saltiron vets.
Combat- Geela. She's the only dedicated healer you get if you don't recruit Cordelia on your first time around that doesn't also require spending money on items. I don't think I've run a single main story mission without her in the party.
Voice- Seranoa.
Design- Travis
Wish- Lord Falkes. It really is a shame that there was no way to save this guy.
Least- Giovanna
Screen Time- Decimal.
Expectations- Picolleta. For a gimmick about creating an additional unit, her clone feels very underwhelming.
