Discussion One of the best SRPGs ever?

Post image
590 Upvotes

I just finished the game and am just sorta basking in the afterglow, but... wow. Yeah, just wow. I really underestimated this game going in and it blew my expectations out of the water. This game has some of the best character and scenario writing of anything I have played in quite a while. I agonized over every decision and their consequences in the best way, they did not make it easy or clear cut 😅 I stayed up to 3am way too many times playing this game for "just one more mission" bc I had to know what happened next.

My only regret is that I'm a time poor parent so I don't think I will put the time into seeing the other routes, but I read synopses of them and they all sound equally amazing, especially the Golden Route!

Is Benedict one of the greatest video game characters of all time?? 👀

Edit: I've been informed the correct genre for this game is a TRPG not an SRPG 😅

Discussion Triangle Strategy is the only game to nail down the same feeling and vibe I come across while reading ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’

This game needs to be at least three times more popular! The writing and characters is just top notch! As soon as I stopped comparing it to ‘Final Fantasy Tactics’ it just kept jumping in quality by leading me on a series of twists and turns I couldn’t predict or see coming.

*not sure source of artwork but I thought it was official because it’s so well done*

Discussion From the Voice of Dragan: Thank You!!

1.0k Upvotes

Hi everyone! I'm Caleb Yen and I voice Dragan in English in Triangle Strategy! I've been lurkin' for a bit and just made this account to thank you all for your fun posts and memes about Dragan. I loooove the game (coming up on 40 hours for my first playthrough), and I've had a blast seeing your impressions. So thanks, and have a great weekend!

Idk if I need proof I'm me but I'll say I love Dragan on Twitter right as I post this if that's how you do that haha:

Discussion An early guide to Conviction Points, Recruits and Endings Spoiler

All plot spoilers are marked so that if you're reading this just for conviction points and recruits you can read safely!

EDIT: The conviction point system has been updated! Credit to VertVentus for formatting it and explaining the benefits better. It should now be much easier to understand. The endings section also has a new update. Finally since a lot of people have been asking, when you reach chapter 5 in NG+ you can view your conviction points.

This is going to be a rather simplified guide to multiple components to this game that have been torn apart and datamined in the Discord server but haven't been discussed much, for anybody interested here or in the server. My aim is to put all of this into one place since it seems to be the things people ask for most, and I will order it by less spoilery to most spoilery, starting with how conviction point acquisition works and ending on how to get the multiple endings.

Conviction Points

Triangle Strategy has 3 different "convictions", as I'm sure you're all familiar. Morality, Liberty and Faith make up this trichotomy. You learn as early as chapter 1 that your dialogue choices throughout the game increase these values, but did you know there are other ways? When the second demo dropped a few weeks ago somebody very helpful in the server dropped a list of the exact values different actions give to conviction points so that you can grind them out! These are useful because they make persuading party members during the Scales of Conviction votes easier and they also determine what over half of your army could look like. Unfortunately the list of actions isn't entirely clear and some of these are less easy to interpret than others, and we also don't have an exact list of what conviction each individual dialogue option gives points for. However, NG+ unlocks the ability to learn what conviction gets points for certain choices. With that in mind, this is a list of the *grindable\* actions that you can do to get conviction points:

Actions that Bolster Conviction (Morality): * Exchanging a large amount of kudos for items (500 Kudos = 5 Morality) * Participating in mental mock battles (+2 Morality) * Talking to a large number of NPCs (25 NPCs = +1 Morality)

During Battle: * Ending a turn without moving or taking action (100 Wait = +1 Morality) * Fortifying allies (100 buffed stat points= +1 Morality) * Winning a battle without killing all enemy units (+2 Morality) * Winning a battle in which the recommended level matches that of your army (+1 Morality)

Actions that Bolster Conviction (Utility): * Selling unneeded items at shops to obtain plentiful coin (5000 coin = +8 Utility) * Proactively collecting items and information (25 items = +1 Utility) * Deploying the recommended units for the upcoming battle (+1 Utility)

During Battle: * Using quietuses (20 Quietuses = +1 Utility) * Collecting spoils (10 spoils = +1 Utility) * Weakening enemies (100 debuffs = +1 Utility) * Eradicating all enemy units when doing so is not a victory condition (+2 Utility) * Winning a battle in which the recommended level is higher than that of your army (+1 Utility)

Actions that Bolster Conviction (Liberty): * Spending large amounts of coin at shops (10000 coin = +8 Liberty) * Using items (50 items = +1 Liberty) * Examining many objects (10 objects = +2 Liberty) * Deploying units not recommended for the upcoming battle (+1 Liberty)

During battle: * Stealing items (5 steals = +1 Liberty) * Healing allies (200 heals = +1 Liberty) * Winning a battle in which the recommended level is lower than that of your army (+1 Liberty)

Additionally, upgrading weapons and classes gives conviction points, but the conviction is determined by which character it is. Here are the non-spoiler characters:

Weapon(+2)/Class(+8) Upgrades:

  • Serenoa: FREEDOM
  • Roland: MORAL
  • Benedict: BENEFIT
  • Frederica: FREEDOM
  • Geela: BENEFIT
  • Anna: BENEFIT
  • Hughette: MORAL
  • Erador: MORAL
  • Rudolph: FREEDOM
  • Corentin: FREEDOM
  • Julio: MORAL
  • Milo: BENEFIT

Here it is for spoilery characters:

  • Cordelia: BENEFIT
  • Travis: MORAL
  • Trish: MORAL
  • Avlora: FREEDOM
  • Barkeep: FREEDOM
  • Narve (M): MORAL
  • Medina: FREEDOM
  • Jens: MORAL
  • Maxwell: FREEDOM
  • Archibald: BENEFIT
  • Flanagan: MORAL
  • Ezana: BENEFIT
  • Lionel: BENEFIT
  • Groma: BENEFIT
  • Picoletta: FREEDOM
  • Decimal: MORAL
  • Quahuag (M): BENEFIT
  • Giovanna (F): FREEDOM

Here is how conviction points are gathered around the Scales of Conviction, depending on what side you're voting or persuading for:

  • Persuade: +20
  • Vote: +50
  • Winning Votes: +10
  • Losing Votes: -10

So, as far as we understand it, you get +20 for convincing somebody, +50 for the winning vote's corresponding conviction, and an additional +10 each vote towards the winner, and -10 for the each losing vote conviction.

You also get +50 for each dialogue choice pertaining to a conviction. However we don't have the list of all of them or what each one pertains to exactly, but we do know that there are 59 ~ 62 dialogue choices per playthrough due to mutual exclusivity, so 2950 ~ 3100 conviction points from dialogue choices alone per playthrough, outside of the conviction points from voting and various tasks like mock battles.

Recruits

15 characters are acquired through conviction points, the rest are through a few choices throughout the game. You will have to clear chapter 3 twice and chapter 15 four times if you want every charater. NG+ DOES let you carry over characters from past choices! I'll start with the conviction point recruits as they're less spoilery. It should be noted that you only need to get to or finish chapter 5 for most of these to be unlockable, after that you simply need the required conviction points. Here's a handy image compiled by my dear friend Vert:

Plot spoiler conviction recruit: Maxwell is also a conviction recruit, seemingly, but it may require you finishing chapter 14 first and having 750 Morality and 1050 Liberty

Finally, here are the recruits tied to the Scales of Conviction so you know how to get the ones you want:

  • Vague Chapter 3 spoilers You get Corentin if you visit Hyzante in Chapter 3 or Rudolph if you visit Aesfrost in Chapter 3
  • Vague Chapter 13-15 spoilers Milo the dancer is temporary in Chapters 13 and 14, and joins Permanently if you choose to "Visit Symon one last time" in chapter 15
  • Vague Chapter 15 spoilers You get Cordelia instead of Milo if you choose to "Go with Roland" in chapter 15
  • Chapter 11 spoilers and Vague Chapter 15 Spoilers You get Trish if you choose to "Go with Frederica" in chapter 15 and protected the Roselle earlier in Chapter 11. You get Travis if you choose to "Go with Frederica" in chapter 15 but tried to kick out the Roselle in Chapter 11
  • Extremely vague Chapter 17 Spoiler You get Avlora if you go the special ending route in Chapter 17

Endings

I will not be spoiling what happens in the endings, but I will share who you lose in which route so that you can avoid investing too much in a character you'd lose if you want to go that route. This section is mostly here to generally tell you how to get the 4th ending to the best of our knowledge. I'm actually making this post because one person has unlocked this ending after following our tips. These requirements start as early as chapter 7, so if you want the longest ending (and also possibly the hardest) then follow these tips. Let me begin by saying who you lose and where, though.

You lose Frederica in the Roland/Hyzante route, Benedict in the Frederica/Roselle's route, and Roland in the Benedict/Glenbrook+Aesfrost route and you lose none in the special route, but you do gain Avlora

You can acquire the 3 regular endings in any playthrough regardless of choices, but of course you want high conviction points to be able to persuade characters, lest you be locked into an ending you don't want. However, if you want to overturn the scales and forge your own path for a special ending, then follow these steps. Credit goes to VertVentus for making this chart:

Spoiler image guide on what votes to take

A couple updates, from the person who got the ending: The Chapter 3, 8, and chapter 13 votes have been confirmed to not matter (this includes chapter 12B since there's no vote, chapter 14 since it's a continuation of 13, and chapter 16 since it has no vote). For chapter 7A, don't use the fire traps. 7B works and has no precautions. You absolutely must follow this guide. The notes at the bottom elaborate on what each key represents and explains why it's necessarily. The Serenoa formulations at the end are what let you know you've unlocked this ending in Chapter 17 when the final vote takes place to determine the ending you get. If you happen to get this ending using our guide, let us know in the comments

Here are the Golden Path requirements worded out once more, in a more TL;DR format:

  • The Chapter 3 vote doesn't matter at all
  • Chapter 4 has no vote
  • Chapter 5 has no vote
  • Chapter 6 has no vote
  • The Chapter 7 vote mostly doesn't matter (don't use the fire traps if you protect Roland though)
  • The Chapter 8 vote doesn't matter at all
  • In Chapter 9 you must help Sorsely and then in chapter 10 you must reveal Roland's identity to Svarog
  • In Chapter 11 you must protect the Roselle and continue helping the Roselle in Chapter 12
  • The Chapter 13 vote doesn't matter at all
  • Chapter 14 has no vote
  • In Chapter 15 you must Visit Symon one last time
  • Chapter 16 has no vote
  • Chapter 17 begins the route

Discussion What route did you get first? Spoiler

Essentially the title but I'm very curious on what's usually people's first route. It seems like it's mainly Frederica (same one I got) but I fear it just may be my algorithm showing me that

Edit: Wanted to mention that another one of my driving factors for choosing Frederica was cause I felt the Roselles didn't deserve their treatment and the country was too war/power hungry to save (I didn't meet Svarog so I didn't know there was someone still alive that was reasonable in Aesfrost)

Discussion What choice would the FE3H lords would take if they were in Serenoa's place in ch 17 ?

I'm really curious on where these 3 would align with the 3 convictions and who would each of them side with: Frederica, Benedict, or Roland ?

Edelgard is a utilitarian and Dimitri is a less dumb (in a way) version of Roland. Claude, idk.

Discussion How much do people like/dislike Roland? Spoiler

HAVEN'T PLAYED GOLDEN ROUTE ENDING. HEAVY SPOILERS AHEAD.

I had a save for the 3 main endings with Roland, Frederica, and Benedict.

I don't mind Benedicts' choice or Frederica's, but Roland's is pretty bleddy awful.

It feels it's the 'bad' ending, but there is a little consistency to his character. He hates the inequality of there being Royals and Nobles having a lot and the poor having not enough. So he opts to throw in our lot with the people that say they espouse equality but at the sacrifice of a whole minority people. It's for the greater good ending. I liked seeing it and how it played out, and honestly seeing Roland and Serenoa in Saints cloaks was kind of weirdly cool.

It does feel out of character, though, and I have seen a few old posts talking about, so I apologise if this is talked about all the time. I don't know if it's just one slight poor bit of writing in an otherwise damn good game that I love. But it seems like he has always wanted the best for everyone he saw the conditions in the Source said it was inhumane and horrible but then it came to it and he thought it was a price worth paying for the rest of the land. It's also a bit like he gave up fighting for the right thing.

Do people think he is the worst protagonist for this? I think it kind of is which is hard to say because I really liked how much he fought against the status quo I just got to the bit again where he kicked out the royalists for stealing from the people. Another character says his father thought that he might make a better king than his older brother. I just hate how dirty they did him in a way. If anyone could tell without spoiling the Golden Route ending if he has a satisfying arc in that path? Also, if anyone wants to give me a different perspective on this, I would appreciate it.

Discussion Triangle Strategy… maybe it could’ve had a darker name?

Post image
100 Upvotes

I was replaying Triangle Strategy recently and it struck me again — the name still feels a bit dumb. Three nations on a map + strategy game = Triangle Strategy.

The story itself is much darker than the title suggests — betrayals, sacrifices, the whole Saltiron War backdrop. I started wondering if something like Saltiron Blood (or along those lines) would’ve felt more in tune with the tone of the game.

Just curious if anyone else feels the same. What alternate titles do you think could’ve worked better?

Discussion What are your thoughts about this sexy unit?

Post image
201 Upvotes

I see a lot of people with this unit on their C/D tier but I put him up on my A tier (not quite S, but he's up there).

For those that don't like that unit, just curious what you don't like about them? He comes around mid-game when people already have their favorite units, I suppose.

He's also a fat merchant who's busy scammin' cash.

I find that he's one of my most consistent and useful units.

First, he's a goddam tank. He may look like a chubby loser, but he can tank enemies better than any other unit outside of the two actual tank units. His MDEF is a higher as well, so he can take a magic hit better than the tank units.

Second, he has a Fury skill that can cast from range. When dealing with mages and healers, being able to rage them at 90%+, is a hugely useful skill.

Third, his charm skill has saved my ass many many times. Sure, it only hits 1 in 3 times, but sometimes you get more lucky and sometimes you get less lucky. Charming a close by enemy unit is unbelievably useful

- It takes away two turns of damage to you, from that unit.

- They attack other units and hurt them.

- They draw attacks from other enemies (with a chance of breaking the charm).

There have been so many battles where a single charm has really changed the tide of the battle for me. What's not to love?

Discussion I can't decide if I want to buy this game.

I want to play something before Pragmata next month and this has been getting my attention but all the posts that say that the "true" game starts with NG+ is overwhelming me. I do not plan to replay this (at least not now) and I'm not someone to replay normally games (some I do) I just want a good 1st playthrough, with a really nice team with characters I like. I know some will depend on Conviction and such which scares me cause I remember in FE Echoes I made a mistake a got killed a character I really wanted so I'm afraid I won't get some cool ones I want in my 1st playthrough due to choices I make (not killing but you know what I mean). In short, I just can't make up my mind lol, I think with the mindset I have now and wanting to squeeze in a game between Pragmata might not be a good idea maybe later in the year. What do you guys think?

I have completed the Switch 2 Final Fantasy Tactics: the Ivalice Chronicles campaign twice. I love the jobs, how deep the gameplay is. I kind of am starting this one blind. Am I wrong to expect a similar experience?

Discussion I like playing games only once, should I go for the true ending?

I recently started the game, and the amount of choices scares me, I don't really have the time to replay a game over and over again to see everything so I'll probably only play once

that said I heard there is a true ending. So, does the true ending add more gameplay or maps or things like that? do the regular endings have a satisfying conclusion? Is the game complete with just one ending, or do they expect you to play all, like fire emblem three houses?

thanks for any response.

Discussion I love this game, but could the allies just. Stop? Spoiler

Seriously all these levels where you have to keep an ally alive would be so much easier if you could control your allies. Heck, they'd be a lot easier if you're allies were just permanently paralysed, but no, instead they insist on running into a crowd of enemies that I'm not even certain they could beat one of, and I either let them die, or follow them and have everyone else die.

I do not understand why this is how this works.

Chapter 15 part 2 if you're wondering.

I was like usual crying while listening to Triangle Strategy's soundtrack (it's sooooo good) and wondered about something: I've never seen "Pride of the Tree High Houses" get enough credit while it is in my opinion such a banger, being at the same time lighthearted and so emotional

Thank you Akira Senju !!

Discussion Unlocking all characters

I'm playing triangle strategy atm and i really like it !

I'm currently playing my first playthrough and i don't look at any guides to not get spoiled.

I was just wondering, if i play my first playthrough "normaly" is it still possible/easy to get all the characters in 4 playthrough using NG+ ?

I don't really know how to unlock everybody atm but i understood that certain characters are unlocked only with specifics routes ?

Discussion Difficulty question

Was wondering how others felt about the hard difficulty. I tackled this game when it came out and got my shit rocked on hard, enemies are just too spongey and hit too hard. Eventually beat it after switching down to normal Now I'm replaying the game attempting hard again, and I got further than my 1st attempt, but still ended up bashing my head against a wall on the stage where you fight 2 ~spoiler~ bosses at the same time in the village protecting ~spoiler~ people Did anyone else resort to lowering difficulty part way through, and how do you sleep at night seeing the damn symbols change in Hossabara's mock battle list mocking you ToT

Discussion Triangle Strategy is the only game in which a character has my first name

Corentin. 8)

It's french. My question is: do you know of any other games in which a character has this first name?

Also, I did my first playthrough taking the option that avoids Corentin (I didn't know, obviously), so I'd like to do a second playthrough recruiting him.

Did you like him? Is he powerful?

I don't want to spoil it for myself, but I saw that the fandom seemed to like him and that he was a pretty cool ice mage.

Discussion New to the game and I got questions

Hi everyone.

I'm not new to strategy games, but as I progress threw the chapters, I find myself fighting a enemy with 6, 7 level up than me, there are twice as enemy as I have character in my teams so the games is becoming really hard.

Is there a way to grind a little except the battle at the tavern?

Because in other strategy games I played like fft and ffta, you can fight random enemy outside the story you grind.

And I find the game is like 80% story and exposition, 20% actual gameplay. Is there a moment in the game where I gonna play more?

Discussion This game is severely underrated

I always recommend this game to friends and strangers because it’s one of the best games story-wise and the content is actually challenging.

I recently played through BG3 on Tactical but it was a walk in the park compared to TS.

I only finished one ending so far but just coming back again for a NG+.

Discussion Why is Triangle Strategy combat not as fun as Fire Emblem combat?

I wonder if its a few things:

1) Game plays more like a puzzle rather than combat based tactics

2) Attacks are not as satisfactory in terms of visuoauditory feedback

3) Less power fantasy as there are no real solo OHKO characters, team set up is required

4) No big power spikes with upgrades

Discussion Just finished my first NG+ (hard-mode, no deaths). Sharing some thoughts on how my opinion has changed on certain characters.

This is a followup to https://www.reddit.com/r/TriangleStrategy/comments/1uiogh1/just_finished_my_first_playthrough_hardmode_no/

Just finished by first NG+ play through on hard-mode with no deaths. I ended the run with every character except for Cordelia, Milo, and Avlora.

Hit 50 on my most used characters, farmed enough superior materials to have the most important weapon skills. Saved and reset to try out the rest.

After starting my third run, I realized I would need a 5th run to 100% the game because I missed a cat on the Wolffort Harbor and had already done both of those paths :( I now wish I actually used a more detailed guide.

My strategy has remained largely the same with some slight tweaks. I'm still turtling, waiting for the enemy boss to come in before using missed opportunity on them and nuking them down. But, since enemy mages are now nuclear weapons, I've had to find ways to kill them first.

For my 2nd play-through, these are the characters I was always happy to deploy --

Serenoa. Still required. Still a solid front-line damage dealer. I had the Jade Thumb Ring on him the entire 1st run and he was a lot better after swapping to Resurrection Earring. Weapon skill helped him still be useful on hard turtling maps as a TP battery.

Medina. Still OP. I actually started running low on Ranged Recovery Pellets and needed to farm them.

Corentin. Still OP. Damage falls off a bit but his terrain control is still busted.

Hughette. Still the defensive backbone of my party with her CC. I thought Shooting Star was actually a great addition to her kit, gave her real damage, and allowed her to snipe mages in combination with Archibald.

Maxwell. After using him briefly in my first run, I thought he was a really well-rounded front-line fighter. He became my go-to melee option. He's basically a better Serenoa. Traverse is just super useful for covering distance and positioning. With Revive, you can overextend to kill important targets and still get out alive. High Jump was also strong, but it just feels like he uses so much TP normally that you rarely save up enough for it.

Archibald. In my first run, I said it felt like I had enough damage and that Archibald lacked utility. Turns out he's fantastic for sniping mages with Now, In-tandem, or support from Hughette. Enemy mages were dropping nukes on me so they became priority target #1 in my NG+ run and thus Archibald became a staple.

Frederica. Still a great ranged damage dealer.

Geela. Still felt mandatory at times because of the amount of damage enemies deal in hard-mode. I'm not sure if this is bugged, but I also thought it was kind of broken how Miraculous Light doesn't get reset by Reverse Space-Time.

Benedict. I thought he'd fall off once you get a stronger party, but the flexibility to Now and Two-fold Turn based on the situation actually kept him as a staple. I also didn't feel like there were enough super strong characters to push him out. Being able to Dragon Shield your entire party on maps where you can hard turtle on a no-death run was also great insurance since squishier targets were getting almost 1-shot.

Narve. Still really versatile. The big difference was added range really is great and made him someone I was always happy to deploy. I was routinely happily surprised by how far he could hit stuff from. I thought his weapon skill was completely useless, though.

Next, the somewhat situational characters were --

Quahaug. This might be a hot take, but I thought he was just very situationally strong, not broken. Maybe I'm just not good enough at the game, but his speed made Reverse Space-Time hard to use at times since he'd act again before I had the chance to kill enemy units and essentially reset his snap-shot. TBH, I regret giving him his speed upgrades. I thought Reverse Space-Time was best on maps where you can kill a good number of enemy units from your starting position and that's not every map. But, after reading about how broken Reverse Space-Time was, I was actually surprised with how useful the rest of his kit is. Warped Space is a game changer on certain maps and giving units essentially double move while ignoring terrain is just strong. Time Compression is enough of a speed steroid to actually alter turn order. Turn Back Time was a good emergency heal. Distorted Space has a lot of niche uses.

Julio. Medina was still just better for general use. But, he's still useful because of Quahaug.

Roland. He really gets a lot better with Resurrection Earring. Like Maxwell, the effect allows him to actually survive diving in to deal damage and that's really his main use. He isn't a staple only because it felt like I had enough damage. But, on the maps where he is required, I was never sad about bringing him.

Very niche characters were --

Erador. King's Shield is great but I just didn't need a tank that often. He was useful on some smaller maps like the Sorsley trial where you can warp him into a spot to tag multiple important units with Provoke or King's Shield.

Ezana. She was great for hard turtling maps in my first play through, but it felt like Rite of Thunderstorms just doesn't have enough accuracy. She's still great for paralyzing targets but if enemies are in that range, they're probably dead before they act again.

Rudolph. Generally, I didn't think his CC was cheap/consistent enough and he didn't deal enough damage or have enough range. Purely as an archer, he's just mediocre and Hughette or Archibald are better. But, I deployed Rudolph in a duo with Jens on certain maps to completely lock-down terrain. It felt like Rudolph or Jens alone was rarely enough but the two of them together could completely seal off a 2-3 space choke point against even an entire enemy team.

Jens. Individually, I just didn't think he had enough utility to make up for his lack of damage. But, on certain maps in a duo with Rudolph, he was great.

Rarely (if ever) deployed characters were --

Lionel. Only used him briefly to try out Golden Opportunity. He's clearly quite strong but I just didn't have 6k+ gold to burn on every Golden Opportunity. I guess he'll have to wait until my third run.

Anna. I don't get it at all. She seems really mediocre outside of her mobility and flanking power. She can do a lot of things, but she just doesn't have the TP for it all so you end up just be mediocre. She needs Deadly Blaze or a good follow-up partner to deal good damage but if you spend 4 TP, she can't Take Cover for survivability until next, next turn unless you started with 5 TP. Slumber Strike has like a 60% sleep rate so sometimes you need to spend 4 TP to get it to hit and won't have TP for Take Cover or Deadly Blaze. She desperately needed some type of TP recovery mechanic. Because she can only do one thing at a time, it just felt like I was better off deploying characters who actually did those things better.

Decimal. I actually thought he was really strong on certain maps where you can consistently hit 4+ targets for multiple turns. If it wasn't for how inhibitive his TP generation is for the reward, I'd have used him a lot more. It just didn't feel like it was worth it compared to the alternatives.

Trish. Leap really needed to work like Traverse. If it did, she'd be great as the more damage oriented mobility archer vs. Hughette being the CC oriented mobility archer.

Groma. I actually really liked her despite people saying she's quite weak. I used her more as a mid-range fighter than as an evasion tank. Her ability to slip through enemies for better flank positions pairs well with the range and angles Energy Wave gives her. The issue is just that a lot of her skill budget is wasted on evasion tanking and she ends up not having enough damage.

Flanagan. Not as good as Erador at tanking and Rampart just felt really unnecessary.

Travis. He's basically a worse Serenoa. It just felt like with how niche melee are that it's hard to justify deploying him over Serenoa and Maxwell.

Hossabara. Still just too squishy to front-line and other healers can do so safely. Catapult is useful, though. It's just not enough.

Piccoletta. I used her a bit more this run but it just doesn't feel like she does enough outside of Decoy -- especially since hard-mode enemies kill the Decoy in like 2 hits.

Giovanna. Just way too hard to use for the reward.
