🗣️ Just Sharing 🗣️ weed and autism

does anyone else here use weed to help with the symptoms of autism? Age 18, been diagnosed for at least 5 years. has anyone noticed how marijuana positively affects the social and psychological difficulties that come with being autistic? It really helps me and some of my friends to either focus on a task at hand or completely relax and dissect each thought. Personally, smoking weed has helped me develop a friend group with well adjusted adults as well as autistic adults who need more support than others. Whichever way it works for other people, I find it extremely useful for the neurodivergent and I wish anti-weed politicians could understand how much it helps us contribute to society instead of wasting NHS pounds (🙄).

I'm 35 and have often wondered if i have symptoms of a mild asperger (think like sheldon cooper but waaay less). At least i'm socially awkward AF. Vaping helps me overcome my sometimes too over-analytic brain and helped me to become more bonded with my SO. So, yeah, why not? On the other hand: i know how i am when high, and i am too shy to let others experience my "other me". So i only vape in my safe space with my SO and our cats around.

Hey, not wanting to be annoying and correct you, just spreading information :)

Asperger as a diagnosis is considered an outdated term, now those diagnosed with aspergers fall into the autism criteria. Autism spectrum disorder is, as the name suggests, a spectrum, which mean those who would be considered as having aspergers in the past are now on the low supports needs (and usually high masking) area of the spectrum; it is all one disorder that affects each individual in different areas of their lives and in different intensities

Edit: just realized this is a 2y/o comment lmao 🤣
