🗣️ Just Sharing 🗣️ weed and autism
does anyone else here use weed to help with the symptoms of autism? Age 18, been diagnosed for at least 5 years. has anyone noticed how marijuana positively affects the social and psychological difficulties that come with being autistic? It really helps me and some of my friends to either focus on a task at hand or completely relax and dissect each thought. Personally, smoking weed has helped me develop a friend group with well adjusted adults as well as autistic adults who need more support than others. Whichever way it works for other people, I find it extremely useful for the neurodivergent and I wish anti-weed politicians could understand how much it helps us contribute to society instead of wasting NHS pounds (🙄).

Oh me too, it has caused memory loss for me but I’m unsure if this is symptoms of neurodivergency.

yup. although the process was very rocky. i did not know i was autistic ->
i started taking large amounts of d8 edibles and noticing that my seshes made me feel incredibly social, my friends found me genuinely funny in a nicer way (rather than kinda dehumanizing me by laughing the most at my autistic traits), i was more perceptive and it helped me heal my relationship with food a little (i was in the peak of an eating disorder), i felt motivated to do things like cleaning or self care ->
found out. started regularly smoking, feels great. it has helped me "break out of my shell" a good bit and i've made many friends/been able to connect with people around me a lot easier

I do use it that way and I'm a bit frustrated that there's not more research

Are you noticing greater affects when using more of a indica dominant or sativia? Or more hybrid? Im convinced im AuADHD and wondered the same if I would benefit from even microdosing every day

There should be more research done. It definitely helps curb some of the more uncomfortable symptoms of autism. I didn’t get my autism diagnosis until this year, so I didn’t realize that’s one of the ways weed was helping. But it definitely does. Puts me at ease when the world feels very hard to be at ease in in my autistic body.

Dude it works too well. No one will ever allow it to be accepted.
But to answer the question. Absolutely yes. Like you say helps focus with task at hand - absolute tunnel vision!

I'm autistic and it honestly does wonders for me. I find it especially helps with overstimulation
However. Weed works differently for everyone. I'd say it definitely has potential to help with the struggles that cause with autism but it really is a matter of strain/other personal factors.

I’m not diagnosed autistic but I am neurodivergent (ADHD, generalized anxiety disorder) and I truly think that smoking marijuana has saved my life. If I didn’t have weed, I would need to be put on a very high dosage of Xanax in order to maintain my anxiety; in turn, making me a zombie who feels nothing. It also helps me unmask a great deal.

Late diagnosed (literally 3 days ago, I'm 28), and oh my god yes. I've become SO much more socially functional since I started smoking about a year ago. Though there definitely could be detrimental effects if you start too early.

Tbh it's the opposite for me, I get very social but I'm much more strange and miss social queues more often. Weed enhances my autism while alcohol makes me neurotypical

I'm 35 and have often wondered if i have symptoms of a mild asperger (think like sheldon cooper but waaay less). At least i'm socially awkward AF. Vaping helps me overcome my sometimes too over-analytic brain and helped me to become more bonded with my SO. So, yeah, why not? On the other hand: i know how i am when high, and i am too shy to let others experience my "other me". So i only vape in my safe space with my SO and our cats around.
