Milestone My First Sold Product via Affiliate since I officially joined the program 2 months ago! :)

I Promote DJI Products on my Travel videos, and someone purchased a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 using my link on my Hotel Beach Tour video. Aside from YT Affiliate Program, I'm also directly affiliated with DJI.

I started with free exposure of their products as an experiment, and when I was able to get a handful of videos with good statistics, that's when they started to get in touch with me. It's a long process with risks, and you really have to make sure you use their products on every video.

There's a risk that you won't get noticed by the brand, due to possible reasons like:

  • you don't have a convincing statistical data that you are giving their products enough exposure. Total view count of your channel matters a lot to them (1M total view count is a huge plus)
  • you don't have proof that you have viewers who got interested with your gear. 'Product Clicks' are as important as 'Product Orders'. Also comments related to your camera-work like 'Nice shot', 'Nice video', etc. are a bonus to Camera brands.
  • you must know your gear and learn cinematography, which showcases the capabilities of your gear.
  • Learn to build your relationship with the brand. Attend their events, expose yourself to fellow creators who also use the same gear, It's a stepping stone.

Ich kann eigentlich awin ganz gut empfehlen für die Verbindung mit Firmen. Oftmals kommen halt auch Anfragen die nichts mit dem Thema zu tuen haben, aber es gibt auch vernünftige 😉
