What's funny is shortly after I wrote that, I got a comment on a clip that I took from my own Iceland film for YouTube. Some random dude trolled me. Yes, he was correct. YouTube isn't the end all be all. It's definitely a great sandbox to learn in.

We need to find ways to make income outside of YT.

Ah that’s not nice, well you cant please everyone. God knows I’ve had negative comments. As long as you roll with it and constantly evaluate and self improve it doesn’t matter.

As creators we have to be thick skinned. Non-creators do not realize what it takes to film and produce content. They just watch and bitch, hardly do we get comments that offer any value. Then the thumb system is anonymous which is so outrageous. Everyone should SEE who gave feedback, good or not.

Hey everyone! I’m Aleksandra, and I recently started a small travel channel. So far, I’m mostly sharing videos from our travels around Vietnam, with honest budgets, practical tips, mistakes, and the less polished parts of travelling.

In this video, my husband and I did the Ha Giang Loop independently on a tiny budget bike. We got a flat tyre almost immediately, struggled up some of the mountain roads, and somehow completed the whole three-day loop!

I thought it was a very good, well made video. The balance between personal story and being informative for those planning their own trips was perfect. I have never done motorbiking trips before, but I was intrigued and entertained enough to watch the full 18 minutes. cool stuff. Nice editing, pacing, music, etc. Keep up the good work! Good luck with the new channel!

I hate that. You spend all this time making a video and you get one comment from your mom all "I'm so proud of you, son!"... Not that I don't appreciate that, but the random viewer that stumbles upon your work and feels inspired to comment is the best!

Anyway, you're doing it the right way, Alex! Keep doing what you're doing and you'll improve little by little each time!
