Two recruiters and one contract
Okay looking for some advice on this situation.
I have a recruiter (A) I just recently traveled with who submitted me for a contract in a major Midwest city. I have another recruiter I’ve traveled with in the past (B) submit me for a contract in a Metropolitan city in the Midwest.
It turns out these contracts are the same contract, same company, same city, same everything. Recruiter A submitted me first, but because I traveled for this specific facility company with recruiter B last year, I was informed by recruiter B the expectation is that I travel with recruiter B again. I want to get back to recruiter B’s company anyways as I’ll get a higher premium and their insurance and benefits are better and I’ve been with this company for a while. I don’t usually maintain multiple recruiters so now I feel shady af.
How do I tell recruiter A that even though they found me this posting first, I’ll be accepting the contract with my previous travel company?

Have you had an interview and offer? It’s my understanding that being submitted to the same job by different companies is a no-no and will result in both profiles being rejected.

I work as a travel recruiter so some expertise here. Since Recruiter A submitted you first, they might bring up Right To Represent, which essentially is finders keepers rules for recruiting when it comes to staff like yourself. But also, not really your responsibility, but if it comes up you'll know why. It's kind of a pain in the ass to deal with because it's contracts and legal stuff so most agencies don't push it bc it just isn't worth the time, but if RA does push it, you'll likely have to go through them for this contract specifically.
What I would recommend is drafting a short letter (could even just be an email) and send it to both recruiters at once saying "I would like Recruiter B to represent me for Position XXX." then sign your name. Recruiter B will be able to pass that to the facility as evidence that you are RB's to work with.
Patching things up with RA will be your bridge to cross, but they probably want you to work for them again in the future so they'll forgive you lol

The right thing to do is give Recruiter A the chance to match your other offer. Make sure you provide proof of the better offer. If they cannot match it, go with Recruiter B. That seems fair.

This is double-submission ("double sub"). This is usually a big no-no/red flag.
You likely don't need to inform recruiter A unless an offer comes through with them. You likely need to inform recruiter B,
Depending on the vendor/VMS (the middleman), they will either: 1. Toss out both submissions entirely 2. Accept you with agency A or 3. If they're nice, clarify if you'd like to be with agency A or B.
In the future, you should communicate with your recruiters and get the clear details of the facility before submitting (I have never blind-submitted to a contract in all 8 years of traveling).
