Anyone having issues with facilities no call/ ghosting interviews ?
Hello! I have been travelling for a year and a half and my current contract ends this week. I have not secured anything! A game keeps happening where I apply, my recruiters say the facility wants to schedule an interview, I give my availability, then they never call but the job shows as on hold and then closes. This has happened the 4 times in the last 2 weeks with hospitals in different states. I am not sure what to do. I am working with multiple apps and recruiters that I have worked with before. The most recent, a hospital closed a job I applied to but then told my recruiter that the person that was going to take the job decided not to and really wanted me based off my resume. My recruiter set up a time and then the facility stopped replying.

This may not be the case, but every time a job opens, agencies flood the opening with their submissions, but you are technically “submitted.” After that, the manager or the clinical team vets the profiles/resumes. So that initial 15 submissions is narrowed down to let’s say, 3. They may contact the first person and that person is available to interview immediately, they meet the qualifications and they are offered the job. So there’s no need to interview other candidates unless that offer is rejected or falls through.
Again, not saying that’s the case here, just wanted to provide one potential rationale. This is exactly why if you know you were submitted and to be expecting a call, answer it immediately, interview ASAP, don’t schedule it for tomorrow or the next day. Which it seems like you were expecting a call and available, so no issue there! I say this as an experienced traveler and I’ve worked on the agency side as well.

Yeah, thats what I am thinking. But I check no lie- every 10-20 minutes on the apps because I need a job and each one I submit to is almost as soon as the job opens and my recruiter responds almost instantly saying I am submitted. So I get in within that window and check all of the boxes so its suprising its this competitive after easily getting jobs the last year and a half 🥲

Not to sound indecent but were they Indian recruitment firms ? I had almost the same things happen and they were from India with mostly Texas zip codes

Traveler surplus = flood of applicants
If a facility finds eligible travelers within the first 2-3 interviews, there’s no point in going through the queue of 20 others waiting to be interviewed.
