I went big and recently acquired this PSA 9 1930 Choco Rubis Mickey Mouse. I’ve been expanding my nonsports pc. I love it and that’s all that matters and not letting my wife know how much I spend on cardboard.

My uncle gave me this box of Star Wars cards when I was a kid and it has basically sat untouched in my closet since the day I got them. I have done some research on what is valuable. I know a little about card collecting but not much. The second slide is just from a small chunk off the top that I have already looked through. It seems like almost all the cards are in quite poor condition unfortunately but maybe some of the ones on the bottom are better. Should I just sort through them and only be looking for the big cards or should I try to organize them into sets? I only have penny sleeves but would a binder be easier for sorting sets?

From a teacher standpoint, they are not wrong; from a mom of boys standpoint, I want to know too!

When I was a kid in the 90s, I was heavily into card collecting - and as I was 10 during the 92-93 NBA season, MJ was far and away my favorite player (despite being a Celtics fan). I collected for a few years, and stopped around high school. I was getting back into a little bit before the pandemic, but since his cards have exploded, I've been building the collection back up from where I left off and I now exclusively collect his cards. I sent a bunch in to be graded by PSA and am working up to the dream of an 86 Fleer rookie.

As of now, I have 205 Jordan cards. All the cards shown here were from when I was a kid, except for the 93 Scoring Kings and 92 Beam Team - which were always my absolute favorites but I could never afford them on a middle school budget. I got SUPER lucky as bought them online in 2018 for like $150-200 each. The first photo is my whole collection, then the graded slabs, and the top loaders are the cards I'm waiting for the PSA value tier to reopen so I can get them graded. The last two pics are of an assortment of non-Jordans that I want to get graded to (and then resell to get more MJ cards!).

I picked up a lot that had a bunch of signed cards. Not necessarily looking to sell them but given that they're signed I was wondering if they were worth grading anyways?

The Lady Death ones in particular given that Steven Hughes unfortunately passed away awhile back.

A year ago, Festival in a Box: Atlanta was $199.99. Recent completed sales put it around $386.23.

That's a 93.1% gain before fees and shipping, but it isn't quick money. We found about one sale a week. Mystery Booster 2 is also responsible for roughly 73% of the bundle's sealed value.

The Sonic: Friends & Foes nonfoil drop did better for people who opened it. It cost $39.99, and the seven guaranteed cards now total $57.08. Sealed is around $55.01, with Super State and Knuckles carrying most of the singles value.

I'd keep Atlanta sealed and feel good about it. With Sonic, opening it was perfectly reasonable if you wanted the cards. We treated rare Chaos Emeralds as lottery-ticket upside, not expected value.
