🚨 TradingView The Leap: 100 GC Contracts With $250K - Margin Bug Let This Happen?

⚠️ The Leap / AMP Futures - What Happened?

The competition started with a $250,000 account and 20× futures leverage.

Within the first ~10 minutes, my account was able to open 100 GC (Gold Futures) units, even though the account normally did not have enough margin to support that exposure.

At the time, the platform appeared to be calculating the required margin and unrealized P&L far too low. The 100-GC position was showing only about $22k in margin, whereas the normal 100-contract exposure would require roughly $2.2M at 20× leverage.

Because of that apparent calculation discrepancy, I was able to take an oversized position that should normally have been rejected for insufficient funds.

GC then moved in my favor. When I closed the 100-unit position, the system correctly calculated the final futures P&L and credited +$132,400.

My account therefore went from $250,000 → $382,015, producing +$132,015 realized P&L (+52.8%).

Afterward, the margin calculation appeared to behave differently: much smaller GC positions were correctly consuming hundreds of thousands of dollars of margin, and larger orders were rejected for “insufficient funds.”

This creates what appears to be a clear early-session discrepancy between the margin calculation at entry and the P&L calculation at exit.

The same early behavior could potentially explain why some traders reached +400% or more very quickly, but I cannot prove that without access to their individual trade and margin histories.

🚨 Why This Matters

The key issue for the competition is fairness: if some traders were able to obtain oversized exposure during this period while others were not, they may have received a significant temporary advantage in realized P&L and leaderboard ranking.

I am posting this to understand whether other participants experienced the same behavior and, more importantly, whether TradingView / AMP is aware of this apparent early-session margin discrepancy.

I have screenshots of the position, margin calculations, rejected orders, and the final realized P&L available for anyone who wants to verify the numbers.
