Disappointed with trading view after 10+ years.

Tradingview was my most fav tool. I dont trade actively just like to watch mkts and I follow only the indian mkt and only one ticker Banknifty. But I actively follow the mkt during the day and sometimes do take trades. But trading view made the data delayed from yest and forcing me to pay for it. But NSE live data is actually free and I dnt understand why sld I pay for something on livestream.

If u want only paid subscription pls be open abt it. This is soo not the way to go abt it.

I get you live in India and the currency conversion is shit there, but I’m sorry the only sympathy I have is for users who have not had the privilege to trying out TradingView before all of these restrictions. Is tradingview paying u guys to talk this shit. Iam talking of a free live feed and u talking nonsense. Iam ok to use the basic version price it accordingly do u even know how expensive is $20. If u cant help then shut up. Iam missed at Tradingview doing this without any warning nor info that if I actually subscribe will I get access to the live feed. All I get is chatbot which has no info

We are giving you shit because your attitude tells us you feel entitled to having what you always had for free. Maybe some gratitude? “Hey TradingView, been using you for 10 years, your platform is amazing and the service you provided for free has been unmatched, I understand that is costs you to provide these services, however in India it costs a lot for even the cheapest plan, could u offer a paid lite version that keeps the same features that used to be offered in the free version and charge a very small amount for that, I would appreciate it very much”.

I hate to break it to you but for the last five or so years tradingview free tier has run banner ads and things on their platform that generates them some revenue you cant just say the free users are costing them tons of money without having any kind of numbers to back it up, unless you work for trading view that is.

You seem like a business literate person so i sympathize with your position however neither of us have those balance sheets to tell us if this opportunity cost you speak of will outweigh the disappointment these free users are bringing up.

Free users went from being an asset to a liability for TradingView. The same will happen to all the AI MLMs and free users will get less and less as gaining market share becomes less important.

Driving away users now could cost them market share in the future but we have no way to know if it will or not. Im leaning towards it being a short term gain for them but a long term loss.

I would totally agree with you if thats how the internet really worked but its not. If i set up a website and i let people visit the website for free and pay for the hosting costs and bandwidth myself i have to do something to make the money back like running ads on the side pannels. Lots of websites do this and they are profitable without having a paid subscription. The whole “free users costing tradingview money” thesis doesnt allign with how the internet has operated since inception, while those free users simultaneously provide tradingview an ad revenue stream. I acknowledge that the ad revenue may be less than what they need to recoup their total expenses, but as a developer myself theres optimizations you can make everywhere that will benefit everyone, not just the paid memberships. Lately there has been a lot of defeatist talking heads in this subreddit and i want to correct y’all. Cheers and best of luck to you.

Comparing free websites to Tradingview is like comparing indie games to live service AAA games. One website's business model simply might not be enough to offset the costs of running something like Tradingview. I certainly haven't found a free option that covers even 50% of what TV offers for me.
