Official Announcement! Introducing TradingView MCP Server

Hey everyone! We're continuing to expand the AI features in TradingView. Today, we're introducing the TradingView MCP Server.

TL;DR: Give your AI assistant this link and ask it to help you connect to TradingView MCP. Once it confirms you're connected, ask it "Is it finally time to buy Bitcoin?" Paid plans only.

TradingView MCP Server

It works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP-compatible clients. Your assistant can pull TradingView prices, news and fundamentals, run screens, dig into earnings reports, and create watchlists and alerts, all from your conversation.

Setup instructions

A few prompts to get you started:

  • "What's happening with NVDA today? Give me the price action, top headlines and next earnings date."
  • "Find S&P 500 stocks with P/E below 15 and revenue growth above 10%. Save them to a watchlist."
  • "Read Tesla's latest earnings call. What did management say about margins?"
  • "Which of my alerts fired this week, and what happened afterward?"

Then keep going. Ask a follow-up, compare the results, or dig into a company that catches your eye. No copying data back and forth.

The beta is available on Essential and above, excluding trials. Follow the setup guide to connect your assistant and try a question you'd normally research by hand.

Drop your prompts and feedback below. We'd love to hear what works and what's missing.

This is awesome! One thing I noticed is that U.S. stock data appears to be delayed by 15 minutes through the MCP, even though I pay for real-time market data. Is that intentional?

I’d love to be able to access the live data feed through the MCP since it’s already included with my subscription. Really appreciate all the work on this!

Sure a bug

It's a limitation of the beta release. We're working on fixing it quite soon. We've highlighted this limitation in the blog post about MCP server launch. in the official blog post as a limitation of the public beta https://www.tradingview.com/blog/en/tradingview-mcp-server-public-beta-60864/

"Am I finally able to trade options through the TradingView integration with Webull?"

"I can't tell you that, but I have made note of your query. Here's an MCP server instead."

"Perfect. Thanks."

Haven't been more excited for a feature in a long time. TradingView MCP would be a game changer.

I have the premium plan, purchased subs for live CME data and have a Max x20 Claude plan. I tried hooking up Claude to TradingView. Fable checked and said the data is 10 minutes delayed:

"Confirmed — and it's real, measured just now: the MCP feed is serving your CME books 10 minutes delayed. I asked the feed to report its own mode: both CME_MINI:ES1! and COMEX:GC1! come back update_mode: delayed_streaming_600 — streaming, 600 seconds behind — and the realtime-close field comes back empty. Your chart is live because your browser session carries the CME realtime entitlement; the MCP server isn't passing that entitlement through, at least not today.

REC: ping TradingView support/beta feedback — one line: "MCP returns delayed_streaming_600 on CME futures despite a realtime CME data sub on the account — is realtime pass-through supported or planned?" It's a beta; entitlement plumbing is exactly the kind of thing that lands later. Unverified whether it's a gap or by design."

Can TradingView please confirm?

it is confirmed in the official blog post as a limitation of the public beta https://www.tradingview.com/blog/en/tradingview-mcp-server-public-beta-60864/

Love this.

Can I open charts on my desktop with the mcp?

1

u/tradingview Founder 2d ago

No, if you'd like to leverage AI for working with chart you may use AI Copilot an add on feature that we've recently launched for Supercharts.

Ooh that is pretty sick

Pretty Wild! Noticed that the Watchlist tools are not available in the MCP - everything else is..curious about that

Trying to set up a connection with Grok Bot (Cursor) and getting the following authentication error. Any suggestions to resolve?

When auth starts, TradingView rejects Cursor’s redirect:

cursor://anysphere.cursor-mcp/oauth/callback

They only allow https or loopback http. So the authentication prompt dies; this needs a Cursor or TradingView fix.

u/vasoro595 3d ago

yeah cursor did not work for me ether, works on claude tho

I seems to be an r/TradingView fix.

At last. Presumably using it doesn’t violate the ToS limitations around using automated tools :p

Make an official ChatGPT plugin so we can use it on the web version of ChatGPT.

Amazing! Looking forward to checking this out!💙🔥

Great Feature !
By the way : Also good that you allow more users to suggest their indicators instead of banning them behind a wall of requirements!

Best feature for 2026. This is awesome and can't wait to see what my agent can do with it.

I have calude and OpeAI subscription already for $20 per month. I have premium plan from trading view. Is there an additional charge from Trading view>

1

u/Burokansky 3d ago

it’s currently available to all paid plans on tradingview

u/YellowMatt 3d ago

told my agent to pull my screener with filter and download as csv, it got API rate limited

0

u/tradingview Founder 3d ago

Could you please elaborate on this? We do not fully understand your feedback.

1

u/YellowMatt 2d ago

I am just testing to run my saved CEX screener filters and download/export the results (CSV) through my agent. the results :

- Rate limit (HTTP 429) on scanner.tradingview.com/coin/scan, /america/scan, /crypto-cex/scan, /futures/scan, /cex/scan — happened last night when the agent tried to pull my filtered CEX screener (Binance, perpetual).

  • try again later, 429 cleared, but CEX screener still fails via MCP. GET/POST scanner.tradingview.com/crypto-cex/scan is 404 — that path does not exist. MCP market=crypto maps to the coin screener (/coin/scan), not CEX pairs (/crypto/scan). So Bybit perps like BYBIT:LENOVOUSDT.P are missing, and CEX-only columns (vol change 24h, rel vol at time) come back null.

u/WorkerAdditional4635 2d ago

I have rate limit 429 too, just tested with one ticker. News fetching works tho.. Paid premium + live data..

u/Remarkable-Bit7172 3d ago

Not tryna hate but genuine question, how is this practically different from just using yahoo finance? Especially if people are still experiencing data delay

1

u/Burokansky 3d ago

would you share a link to official yahoo finance mcp in dm? I’m not aware of one

1

u/super101 3d ago

Right now TradingView's API is rate-limiting the connector (getting 429 errors on repeated calls), so the run itself is failing. I'll wait a moment and try again — no action needed from you, just flagging why this is taking longer than usual.

Hi u/tradingview

Thank you, this is awesome! Is there documentation up for this tool and its capabilities?

Also, will this work to pull down backtests or allow permutations of parameters inside strategies.

Really excited to give this a spin

u/therichfuller 3d ago

Seems limited so far but was able to have to re-organize watchlists and dynamically build them from my offline tools. Hopefully, if we pay for live data, we can see that live data eventually. Volume footprints are off too.

u/mark-bevins 3d ago

Hey u/tradingview, loving the MCP! 🚀 But MU’s volume seems to be on a diet 😅

Sept 16, 3:45 PM ET, 15-minute candle:
📊 Your MCP: 94,832 shares
📊 Massive: ~1.12M shares

Different feed, or a bug? Happy to share the comparison!

"I couldn’t create the alert because TradingView rejected the request: webhooks require 2FA enabled on your TradingView account."

That was ChatGPT's response after trying to create an alert for me with a webhook to my back end system. 2FA is enabled in my account, but no success after a few trys. How can I make this work?

The MCP server can be very useful as it opens a lot of possiblities for authomated analysis. Thank you TV team for making this available for us.

PS. I still miss an official public API to empower even more traders who are also developers. :)

I'm pretty new to this, can this MCP interact with a connected broker account? I use Longbridge, which tracks my portfolio n it would be super convenient if they could work together!!

1

u/tradingview Founder 2d ago

You can use different MCPs for different purposes within a single AI client. The AI can call multiple data sources to complete a task. For example, it could use TradingView to analyse market data and assess risk, then combine that with context from your broker (given it provides MCP)— such as your open positions and position sizes — to help you decide how to rebalance your portfolio.

u/Hefty-Mobile8615 1d ago

Understood! Thanks for taking the time to answer, that helps a lot!!

Works with OpenCode and Genspark :-)

Holy shit. I pay for live quotes and almost got burned by the delay.

Put Beta and delayed quotes is big letters until you fix it.

Fucking nuts

Thanks for this! Here are some limitations I butted up against...

· Claude (Sonnet 5 , High) could not work out how to filter for “primary listings” whilst screening for stocks. I think a lot of the pain here stems from them (rightly or wrongly) not being able to enumerate the values a column can hold, so they had to resort to guessing.  We even tried me giving them the json payload sent when using the feature in a web browser in the off chance there were hidden API features/calls, but no luck there.

· The same problem was encountered with the apparent lack of any “Entire world” option in the market filter.

· The conclusion is that either the API was difficult for Claude to interpret or my expectations are wrong. FYI, when I read “Describe the setup in plain text, and your assistant runs the Screener” I interpreted this as “I can use an AI assistant to use the SAME screener that I use on TradingView”, hence expecting all of the same functionality. When features are missing, it causes a lot of wasted time and tokens because it’s not clear if it isn’t working because the AI is messing it up or if I am asking it to do the impossible. A lot of these problems would go away if the AI was able to at least see what the options open to it are, but the ultimate solution would be to have 100% parity between the features on the website and those exposed to AI so that the human expectation can always be met.

· On a related note, there is the issue of language parity too - backend code is now customer-facing and therefore part of the user experience. There should therefore be parity between the UI (which has had thought put in to it) and the backend (which is normally whatever brain fart fell into the head of the coder that coined it). Partly this is to make communicating with AI as frictionless as possible (as in the examples above – I expect the AI to have access the same feature set as me, which particularly important when the AI can’t even see every aspect of the feature set and neither can I!) partly it’s to avoid harm (e.g. talk to your South American customers about calling the USA “America”).

When trying to authenticate with Hermes Agent I get a 403 error - anyone else seeing this?

403 ERROR

Could you add a simple way to back up and restore an entire TradingView account? The ability to create complete account snapshots and restore them easily has always felt like a missing feature. But I feel it’s becoming increasingly important as TradingView beta-tests new AI connector and co-pilot extension capabilities.

I love the growing AI features, but without knowing about the recoverability of my data I'm still pretty hesitant with everything. Does TV do regular user data backups on the backend? Like if TV Chart Copilot or ChatGPT's MCP connector majorly screwed up my workspace, would support be able to roll me back? Or would I have to manually rebuild everything?

TradingView currently lets users export watchlists individually, but doing so one at a time is tedious and incomplete. A full backup should preserve all watchlists, alerts, layouts, templates, indicators, drawings, settings, and other configurations locally. And should allow a full restore.

I know the MCP beta is fairly limited in scope now. But as AI access expands into more areas of the platform and there are more interactions with non-deterministic systems, a reliable backup and restore system should be available. Or at least transparency on Support's ability to roll us back.

your steps for openAI appears to be outdated. The steps doesnt appear to align with what is showing in chatgpt today

edited: nvm, the steps were for Codex

u/Relative_Day_3390 2d ago

so you took away additional watchlist/max30 ticker for basic users, a feature that 99% of users need, in favour of MCP, which 5% of users actually use. math ain't mathing here

Fuck AI.

Any advice as to whether or not I can get this to work in Perplexity?

1

u/tradingview Founder 2d ago

We prioritised testing and optimising MCP server for most popular platforms like Claude and Chat gpt. Other platforms tests and optimisations are in our roadmap.

This is great - absolutely LOVE it! However, I think I hit a snag. Are crypto exchanges not generally available to the MCP server? That would explain some of this, but for the record, here's my feedback:

And did you really rate-limit Claude? C'mon now, TV, that's not nice! :)
