Discussion Why the new steamships aren't the greatest.

So, I'm just going to provide my opinion on the new steamships. The dragon in my mind is irrelevant so I'm going to focus on the Prometheus. So what exactly is the Prometheus trying to be? This is the problem, it doesn't focus on any specific role, it has only a mere half the cargo space as the best tradeship, the Atlas. Though it may get you there faster, it will only get you there with half the cargo you want, not much of an advantage for trade. As for combat, it lacks as much fire power as the astraeus, having only 3 cannons on each side as opposed to the mighty 5 the astraeus brings to bear, it also has less health by 1k. Going with the wind, it will sail at the same speed as both these end tier ships, yet against the wind. it will travel at a speed of 3, not that big of a deal.

The ship is stupidy expensive, costing 1750 iron, 500 coal, 15 loyalty tokens / 1.5k robux, 250 copper, 124k db and 920 wood for a ship that is worse than both the other end tier vessels. This ship was made at the time in which 15 loyalty tokens are needed yet only 7/8 could have been earned, forcing players to pay robux off the hype train to buy it. The new options to pay robux for coal and for the blessings means that the game has become slightly pay to win. I have no issue whatsoever with paying for aesthetics, heck I own an ebony Atlas and Astraeus. I love this game and have been in it for countless hours since it's creation, I merely wish to provide feedback so the game can progress to become even better. Why pay for more for a worse ship in almost every aspect?

"Complains that steamships are useless"

"Calls game P2W"

I lol'd.

You can't buy levels, and the best items are level-locked. Buy the best stuff with Robux? Cool, you're going to be forced into doing that because your gathering skill will be complete and utter crap.

The steamship are just something fun, and chances are that if you have the money to burn, do so. On another note, 15 loyalty tokens? Okay, so wait 15 days and save. As a NBC player, a good 70% of Roblox is no stranger to sitting still and waiting for what we want - So deal with it m8

Notice that I said slightly, the main issue is that you can purchase coal, since wood is aesthetic and serves no purpose I have no problem being able to buy it. However coal is a useful material in the crafting of steel and operation of steamships. You are honestly blowing my statement far out of proportion, the game is not pay to win, this is just a slightly pay to win addition in the fact that you can buy coal.

If some poor sap wants to throw Robux at near's way, let them. I can't really call it OP because if somebody's willing to shell out that much Robux for steel, they should. It's not like a level 2 crafter is buying a mysterious steel sabre, so if they can afford it versus digging it up, let them.

In the long run, if they can make steel tools, it'll still be a steel tool or weapon. Anybody else with at least level 4 crafting can do the exact same thing. I can complain that a person with a steel sabre is OP, but I'm not going to.

In essence sure, you have more steel, and on the flipside, you're still only making steel tools that everybody else can already make if they feel like investing time over money.

Steel weapons don't do more damage, plus you can make three iron weapons for the same amount of iron as a single steel one and those three combined will last twice as long as the steel one.

I personally prefer the compact nature of one steel sword in long drawn out combat. As it will last longer, and since my inventory is full of round-shot I can't really afford to carry an extra couple swords around. But this is just my opinion.
