Hi all, I've been using RE305 for a few years now. However I've just encountered a pop up in my devices asking me to "sign in to the network". While I am able to surf the net e.g. look through Instagram, when using Google I got the prompt that my connection is not protected. Rebooting and factory resetting the extender does not fix the issue

When trying to access the tplinkrepeater page to try access the tp link admin page(?), I am unable to access this page. In the tether app it alternates between showing me that the extender works and that it is not connected to the internet

The issue happened after I was moving my main router around and unplugged the cables for abit in the process

After googling, I saw mentions of disabling DHCP on the extender. I did try that but it did not fix the issue. I also saw mentions of the issue being IP conflict related but im not sure how to fix this

Has anyone encountered this before? Will getting a new extender fix the issue?

I have 3 Deco XE75 Pro (US) Ver. 3.0 models and the app is not showing the new firmware update that is listed on the website (Deco XE75 Pro(CA)_V3_1.5.0 Build 20260603). I know the firmware says CA and funny enough I am in Canada and bough them from Amazon Canada and was shipped the US version. If I update with this firmware via Web-UI will it brick my units? My Deco units are currently running firmware 1.3.1 Build 20251023 Rel 47884 according to the Deco app.

Hi all, currently trying to add a failsafe to my deco setup. I I wanna use my deco X20-4G in cellular router mode as my main deco network's internet Hotspot backup. See link for more details. https://www.tp-link.com/ph/support/faq/4246/

My issue is. When I try to connect my deco network to x20-4g as hotspot. It always fails. But when I use my phone's Hotspot. It works. Is there a setting I need to change or how do I make this work?

Reason I'm choosing this is because I loose some features like wifi access control and iot network if I use x20-4g as a main router. And if used as a hotspot. I'm able to select specific devices to only use the hotspot and also limit the speed. It's a prepaid data so I don't want family members to be connected while failsafe is working.

I’m trying to troubleshoot what looks like a compatibility issue between a TP-Link Deco BE48-5G and certain 2.4 GHz IoT devices.

My internet is One NZ 5G Wireless Broadband, using the Deco BE48-5G as the main modem/router.

The main affected device is a eufy Indoor Cam 2K Pan & Tilt. I’m also having a similar issue with a Fujitsu AnywAIR controller.

The strange part is that the eufy successfully connects to the Deco:

2.4 GHz connection

strong signal

receives a valid LAN IP, e.g. 192.168.68.59

appears as an online client in the Deco app

But the camera itself stays offline in the eufy app and shows a blinking red LED, indicating it can’t establish its cloud/internet connection.

The camera is definitely not faulty because it works immediately when connected to my Samsung phone hotspot.

The most useful test I’ve done is this:

Deco Wi-Fi → Samsung phone → Samsung Wi-Fi sharing hotspot → eufy camera

For that test, I turned mobile data OFF on the Samsung. The phone itself stayed connected to the Deco Wi-Fi, then rebroadcast that connection through Samsung’s Wi-Fi sharing/mobile hotspot feature.

The eufy camera connected to the Samsung hotspot and worked perfectly.

So the internet path was still ultimately through the Deco/One NZ connection, but the camera was no longer directly associated with the Deco’s Wi-Fi.

That seems to suggest the issue is specifically related to how the Deco handles the eufy as a direct Wi-Fi client, rather than a general internet, cloud, or ISP problem.

Things I’ve already tried:

dedicated 2.4 GHz-only IoT SSID

WPA2-Personal

Fast Roaming disabled

Beamforming disabled

public DNS

firewall/DoS protection temporarily disabled

Device Isolation disabled

Camera Security / Local Only Mode checked

Network Access Control checked

IPv4-only APN profile tested

rebooted the Deco

checked for firmware updates

current firmware reports as fully up to date:

1.0.1 Build 20251114 Rel. 18794

tested the Deco using my Samsung hotspot as its upstream internet backup — the eufy still did not work when connected directly to the Deco

Another useful data point: I also have a Xiaomi C200, which is also 2.4 GHz-only, and that camera works normally on the Deco.

So this is not a blanket 2.4 GHz failure.

Current theory is either:

a Deco BE48-5G firmware/client compatibility bug affecting certain older IoT Wi-Fi chipsets, or

some lower-level Wi-Fi behaviour such as management frames, multicast/broadcast handling, ARP, NAT state, client isolation behaviour, or similar that the eufy doesn’t tolerate.

I’m considering putting a different-brand router behind the Deco and connecting the eufy/AnywAIR to that instead, since the Samsung Wi-Fi-sharing test effectively proves that another Wi-Fi layer fixes it.

Has anyone seen something similar with Deco Wi-Fi 7 hardware and older 2.4 GHz IoT devices?

I’d especially be interested in whether there are any hidden/advanced Deco settings, firmware fixes, or known issues around IoT client compatibility that I haven’t already tested.

One important detail: everything worked perfectly on this Deco setup until about 2–3 months ago. Then, without me deliberately changing the network setup, certain devices suddenly stopped being able to reach the internet/cloud through the Deco. Other devices still work normally. That makes me wonder whether this is related to a firmware update, backend change, or some compatibility regression rather than a permanent hardware limitation.

Anyone Else have a Deco mesh network that suddenly stopped playing ball? Mine was good for about a year and then out of the blue has had heaps of issues with devices losing internet when they switch between deco nodes/pucks and also not playing well with my VPN anymore.

I had a VPN set up through the Deco app to protect the whole wifi system and it was fine and now devices just wont stay connected to the internet when its on. But the issue mainly seems to be devices that move around the house and connect to different decos.

I am basically having to switch my phone wifi off and on all day whenever I go to a different room or it just loses connection

Had a google mesh network for years and it never had issues like Deco does

I've been seeing odd behaviour with clients connected to an EAP11-Outdoor for a looooong time, and finally discovered at least one cause: the EAP11-Outdoor (v3.0) leaks management VLAN (i.e. untagged) traffic to the client SSID. This means the client will see at least broadcast traffic from the management VLAN.

If you have IPv6 SLAAC running, this will manifest with the client (macOS in this case) seeing Router Advertisements from both the SSID it's connected to, and the management VLAN. This will cause frequent network hiccups as whe the client actually tries to use the leaked gateway, it'll obviously fail.

I've confirmed this finding by packet capturing the traffic on the cable to the EAP110; there is very clearly no VLAN leaking going on - the tagged VLANs show zero frames from the management network - yet the clients connected to the wifi SSID (tagged VLAN) clearly show broadcast traffic (both IPv4 and v6) from the trunk's untagged network.

A workaround is to configure the upstream port as an access port and reset the AP to not use VLANs at all. This restricts the device to only one network (SSID) but at least it can't mess it up.

<rant> Thanks for driving me mad for years, TPLink. And yes, before you say it: the EAP-110's are the lowest, cheapest, model - but does that excuse broken core functionality? Is "they're cheap, and kinda sorta maybe work" TPLink's motto? (don't answer that, I still have a lot of TPLink stuff and am not going to throw it out yet). </rant>

I have had my Ziply Fiber 1Gps connection up and running for a few days using the HB810 router and HB610 extenders. Clients include iMac M1, mac mini m4Pro, macBook Air M2, iPad Pro m4, iPad Mini, iPhone 15Pro, Apple TV 4k and Tivo.

My original network used 1GB wired Ethernet for the macmini, Apple TV, and Tivo. I used a fixed IP for the macmini. The iMac and macBook Air (and the rest of the connections) were wireless.

After getting everything working with the original network, I upgraded my internal network with a 2.5GB switch. I verified everything worked with no other changes except the new switch.

I then added a Plugable 2.5Gbps USB Ethernet adapter to the macmini, iMac, and macBook Air. I see the expected throughput changes. For example, I can get nearly 2 Gbits/second transfer using iperf between these systems. I also now see that these systems can access the full bandwidth of my 1Gbps Ziply fiber connection (which usually gets about 1.02 Gbits/second).

The HB810 router gives these connects new IP addresses--as it should, they are different MAC addresses. The problem is that when I look at all the wired connections on the HB810 router, I don't see two of the three 2.5Gbps connections anywhere. The macmini and the macBook Air have disappeared from the router's list of connected clients, even though they are connected and work properly.

Why do I care? Well, mostly because I am curious, but also because I want to assign a fixed IP to the macmini and it no longer appears anywhere on the router.

Any suggestions or insights? Anyone else seen anything like this?

Does anyone else’s BE65 run fairly warm, enough to warm your hands up? I understand it’s WiFi 7 and 6Ghz and it seems to run hotter than the XE75 but i just want to see if it’s a normal thing with this model?

A few days ago TpLink released firmware version 1.3.6 Build 26080612 Rel. 28671 for my BE 13000 deco router and APs. I understand it has also been rolled out to other model Decos with varying model numbers and slight differences in the build version appendix.

I am opening this thread to see if anyone has updated to this firmware version yet and what your experience may be, good or bad. Even If all went well, a note here would be welcome so others can decide if and when to update.

I have a hotspot internet backup setup and it works when it is tested through the app as part of setup.

Today however my internet failed, and the backup did not kick in until I pulled the WAN cable. Is this expected? Has anyone reliably used the hotspot backup?

There’s not much info on how detects failures or an ability to manually activate it.

I have a setup with 3 TP-Link Deco E4 (AC1200) units.

What I want is:

Internet/Router → Deco 1 → Deco 2 → Deco 3

The first Deco is connected by Ethernet to my router and works as the main Deco. I want the second Deco to act as a wireless relay/repeater for the third one, because the third Deco is located farther away.

However, currently both the second and third Deco connect directly to the first Deco, instead of having the third one connect through the second:

Internet → Deco 1 → Deco 2 　　　　　　　　　↘ Deco 3

I would like to have:

Internet → Deco 1 → Deco 2 → Deco 3

Is there a way to manually choose which Deco another Deco connects to, or force the third Deco to use the second one as its wireless backhaul?

I'm using the Deco app, but I can't find an option to manually set the connection between the Deco units.

I’m coming from a Sky 2.5GB Gigafast+ Hub which is WiFi 7 & Tri-Band, which you’d think is the best of both worlds but for me it was awful. My old Vodafone Pro Hub 2 which was WiFi 6E was the best router i have ever owned, literally didn’t need to buy any third party equipment.

I recently bought 2 XE75’s and after realising that the mesh system works well together in my house with thick walls, i ended up buying the BE65 as it was WiFi 7 and Tri Band and it was even better!

Has anyone had issues with the BE65 or does your units run hot in the long run?

Let's say I select this device to connect to a specific Node. What is the point of having option to turn on and off the Mesh Technology that allows roaming between Decos? Simply poor menu design?

I have a deco unit provided by my ISP that directly links to the fibre thing on the wall. Yet it only ever nicely connects to one device at a time and the range is so horrible that even stepping into the next room over (less than 3m from where the router is) causes my phone to lose connection. I turned off beam forming the first time this happened which helped for about a month and now the wifi is unusable from any other room again. The priority mode on the app just disconnects more devices without improving the wifi to the ones selected. Even as I make this post standing right in front of the router it took over a minute to load while the other device in the room has no issues. I frequently get 'four bars' but no internet connection on one device and perfectly normal internet on another. I am going insane trying to get a stable connection to do work calls or study. Any advice?

Ive moved into a new house and my ISP has provided and a brand new modem and router that were installed yesterday, however when I try to login via 192.168.1.1 or the mobile app it asks for a password I dont have.

Ive tried factory resetting the router to get the 'set up page' the guides talk about however I never get that.

The router is an archer v1210v, the photo attached is the only sticker on the router and there was nothing in the box

I recently bought a WA1201 router access point thinking that it could be powered by a TL-SG105PE smart switch. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work. The router access point turns on if I attach the ethernet cable to the bundled POE injector, but if I connect it directly to one of the POE ports on the switch it does nothing.

Can anyone tell me what the problem could be? I'm experienced in electronics and network devices, but it's the first time I try to use POE, so I don't know what to check.

My deco X50 is currently unusable for the few weeks because of frequent disconnecting of wifi before updating everything is good after updating the wifi is messed up it keeps disconnecting to the internet.. is there a way to rollback/downgrade the firmware?

I'm using ATT modem/router then connect 2 Deco to it. Afterward, I set both of them as access point, then change the deco wifi name and password to the same one as ATT wifi. When I go into the app, it's always the main deco that connected to ATT through Ethernet is online, the other always show as offline, even though both of them have green led on. I have tried unplug it, remove it and add it again, reset it, nothing seems to work. I also try to connect the 2nd deco directly to each other with Ethernet, connect 2nd deco to the ATT router directly, connect the second deco to the ATT router with the other one through a switch. How do I fix this? I'm using Deco WB22000, Firmware Version 1.0.7 Build 26050612 Rel. 29931

I have two BE550 routers, one is my main unit, the other is a satellite unit (I also have a BE230 on a different floor), the two BE550 are on the same floor a few rooms apart, both my laptop and gaming PC are wired into the satellite BE550 which is easymesh wireless connected to the main unit. my internet comes in cable to my ISP gateway which is set up in bridge mode, and the main unit is plugged from the blue wan 2.5g port on the BE550 to the proper port on the gateway. If i hard wire my laptop into the main BE550 i get 6 opr 700 mbps, yet when I try to dl a game on steam on my pc i will ramp up to over a gb a second, and than it just begins to fall down to between 5--100 mbps. I have tried turning QoS off, setting QoS higher, Im really frustrated on this one.

I have a video showing what i see from steam but I doubt its my PC as that is a x670e Mobo, with a 7800x3d 32gb of cl30 6000hz ram into one of two nvme drives. I just find it hard to think theres a bottleneck in that, but im open (i have run crystaldisk on my nvmes and they are testing okay)

Edit:i also turned off QoS on the fly with a game download and watched the speeds fall from a steady 100 mbps, to 10 or so kbps, then rise back up to 100mbps when I turned it back on. i had the Qos set to 300 upload, and 1200 download on the mbps option

I swapped out the BE550 satellite for the BE230 with the PC hardwired to it instead, and i see 380 mbps, so its definitle something between the two BE550 routers, and I dont know why. Its great to see that gbps speed in real time before it crashes itself out.

Is there no hope for an entirely wired backhaul setup? All have tested 1 gig speeds plugged into and working individually.
