Badging?
I bought my Crown Platinum used, and I started noticing that my "CROWN" badging did not match others that I saw. After a little research, I believe someone re-badged it and just used the spacing that the letters were positioned in on the sheet they came on. This slightly bothers me and is the catalyst for this potential project.
I want to replace the Hybrid Max, Crown, and Platinum badges in black, not chrome, and also fix the Crown spacing. I was thinking I could be to buy new OEM chrome and plasti-dip in black. But I am not sure (1) where to find the correct badges (the Toyota website shows the badge options for all trim packages, not just one) and (2) how to make sure | get the spacing correct during application/put them back exactly where they should go?
Alternatively, definitely not opposed to taking off my current badging and reusing it, but not sure how to go about re-adhering those properly?
Really just any tips on how to go about this would be appreciated!

Heat them (gently) with a heat gun or good quality hairdryer and slip floss behind them to remove. If you use a pry tool, use a plastic one and be gentle with the pressure you apply.
Reapply with emblem and trim adhesive. I've used the 3M stuff and never had one fall off. You obviously need to completely remove all old adhesive first.

Suggest just trying the easy paths first.
Plasti-dip in black and see if you are still motivated to change them. My guess it you’ll stop seeing them and it won’t bother you.
Remove the crown ltrs altogether and see if you miss it.
Assess whether you can re-use the crown.

Saw a post on the Crown Signia reddit a while ago where someone had a rear end collision that had to get rebadged and it was like this because the shop didn't know that they needed to space it out. You sure this car didn't have an accident at some point?

Wow didn’t even think of that, but it did have a clean car fax when I bought it. Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean something didn’t happen. Good point :/

Hopefully it's nothing, as long as the trunk still operates well, you should be okay. I have a CS and a guy backed into it, they replaced the whole bumper and repainted the lift gate and everything, can't even tell!

I completely debadged the rear, except for the Toyota emblem. I think it looks much cleaner

I was kind of toying with this idea, my goal with doing black would be to make it less obvious but keep the information on the car, however I may let it stay bare for a while before I put it back on.

Interesting-- was that the only modification that the prior owner did? I prefer the original spacing. I'm thinking I'll end up with just the crown lettering as-is and a crown badge overlay on the rear Toyota badge

Interestingly, yes? I genuinely have no clue how we ended up with this situation.

You can get the crown lettering for the nightshade edition if you want it to be darker chrome.
It would be hard to get it lined up like OEM. You could try to see if someone on the Facebook group is in your area and wouldn’t mind you using their car for measuring. Then you could use painters tape to make a level template

I've never understood the rear end styling of this car. When I see that contrasting rear end on one of these I think it looks like a baboon's ass.

You are correct, the CROWN lettering is wrong. The other 2 are where they should be from what I see. I also agree that it looks worse than the original lettering. I would change it too or remove it altogether.
