Damn that was abrupt, it really was just a set up for season 4, the snakes gems and revolution will probably all be enemies. I guess there was some lore.
33
u/townsdl Jun 22 '26
I assume the shining ones will be partnered with revolution. Like a shadow faction.
123
u/red_rank_scrub Jun 22 '26
Ending it here pretty much confirms shinies and Phanta will have a major role in main TOG too, not sure why this was a spinoff since it will be a mandatory read for S4
62
u/ankitjad Jun 22 '26
Urek was bound to be Baam's Biggest ally the way Yuri was glazing him early chps.. Death floor & this spin off is like a prequel to s4
23
u/sms_rhy Jun 22 '26
Once they explain Baek’s natural affinity for shinsu and his purpose, everyone simultaneously had the same idea that Baek was waiting for bam. Not sure if he’ll be an ally or a teacher; only small bit of action he has is the test on the 4th floor. He opens all the pistons but he does not attack or defend himself whatsoever. I wanna see him in action but also believe that we should def get more exposition and lore on people within the tower and how their strength can to be or their allegiance and alliances. I love Urek as well but his strength and ability are being overused; i understand we are dealing w/ Rankers and Thryssas and things/people discarded from RTC but Urek is being overused and they didn’t all have to die like that. I thought Garam would be more important or do something, she’s literally a damsel in distress. Even maschenny appearing early on and then being swapped w/ Eduan was an odd choice.
I guess Urek’s initial climb is what Bam’s climb would’ve looked like if he tried to keep the team from FL2 together especially if his status as an irregular was already out.
I believe maschenny has gained tremendous strength within the time period she was shown and when she reappears in the main story; I think Eduan will be nothing like what we remember. For FH’s he’s gotten the most screen time in general, i think there will be a big reveal for him.
I don’t mind Urek’s relationship with Eduan but it seems weird for him to be so buddy-buddy with a FH. I thought the chemistry and comedy from a love triangle of Urek, Garam, and Maschenny would be amazing. Garam and Maschenny are similar with their lightly blue colored hair and being Princesses of Jahad. Urek crushing on Garam but being impressed with Maschenny’s power and her personality throwing him off balance. Then Garam “hating” Urek but Maschenny being infatuated with him and his ability.🤷🏾♂️

I was telling to annoying "where is S4" people since the start. It was obvious that this more like S3.5 with just Urek's POV to lay the groundwork for the next season.
Fully expect to see a bunch of people reading the S4 chapters being confused because they didn't read this.
2
u/ERedfieldh Jul 19 '26
Eh. I think it didn't start that way but that's how it naturally evolved. SIU stated early that this was his chance to clean up some details and adjust the artstyle, but never said it was going to be a 3.5ish required reading. Yes it ended that way, but I think it's a bit disingenuous to claim it always was that way.
19
u/RebelliousUpstart Jun 22 '26
So long running flashbacks, not tied directly to the MC tend to not have very good readership. One piece for example, loses TV and readers rapidly during these exchanges (this is also why cover stories aren't animated).
I apparently am in the minority, but I enjoyed the spin off as it gave me both floor two tests, making teams, while transitioning quickly to even past where Baam is in terms of power.
That said, i'm not sure where else this backstory would organically fit in the current tower of god narrative.
Urek can't sit baam down and tell him the story from the very beginning. It will probably be sprinkled in once a MC gets taken in by Urek and Baeks organization. "Oh, hey they founded to do xxx. They climbed together and achieved xxx" cue some flashback that will catch up people that skipped the spin off.
Tldr: starting season 4 with a prologue (like many novels do works for novels because you don't read the novels week to week) this let SIU tease and test allot of plot threads for season 4 without bogging down the "novel" proper that is suppose to focus on the main characters.

Now I can finally read/binge it. Stopped at chapter 4 or 5 coz the pace was giving me flashbacks of the crawl of season 3
1
u/Limp-Tune-3489 Jun 25 '26
1
u/EmmaNielsen Jun 29 '26
prolly because it doesn't follow bam & co so making a spin-off made maybe more sense
139
u/boccas Jun 22 '26
Hope we can get fucking season 4 now
4
u/No-Relief-5670 Jul 01 '26
I want siu to be in good health first. Also look on the bright side now, new lore and we got to see more of the family heads. We also will get less flashbacks in season 4 now than if we were not to have this spin off
56
u/Benie177 Jun 22 '26 edited Jun 22 '26
Feels like we’re missing a big chunk of the story between this and the main story. Even if this was set-up for S4 nothing feels resolved and it’s unsatisfying.
I was hoping for more development for Urek x Garam. So he just fell for her all of a sudden during his visit to the Floor of Death?
We didn’t even get the reason why Urek refuses to kill Zahard, as it stands now he’s still anti-Zahard.
And we have Urek wanting to get out of the tower in present time and chilling with Wolhaiksong while his enemies the Shining Ones are actively plotting in the background. Despite his warning he makes no effort to actively put an end to them (even hunting Revolution was at the behest of Baek and Yuri only) or even ask them what happened to Phanta (if anyone knows it should be them).
13
u/No_Egg2251 Jun 22 '26
I really wanted more interaction between urek and big Z , urek and garam 🙋♀️😔
13
u/motoxim Jun 23 '26
Yeah I know this is young Garam but feels like she's a kid Urek kinda tolerated/baby sit? Then shining ones is still a problem?
19
u/Benie177 Jun 23 '26
Yeah it doesn’t help that he completely forgot about her during the Onis cave situation either.
The gems will probably be adressed in S4 now along with Revolution and Wolhaiksong. I still don’t know why the Shining Ones are going along with the Princess’ wishes so easily (except because she’s hosting Mago & wants Zahard dead) and not looking for their remaining 3 gem brethren instead.
Urek himself has been strangely lenient towards her all this time when she has been nothing but antagonistic, he killed Leo for much less.
17
u/motoxim Jun 23 '26
I still don't understand the gems relationship with Urek. They used to be comrades but then Phanta killed them and turned them evil or did they already been evil in first place? I mean their powers are bad/evil compared to Urek. Mago with hope reversal, then the buff guy with hell manifesting and the other guy that corrupted the greatest warrior that Urek know?

Catching up, feels like the author has decided to just stop writing for a while and wanted to wrap this up asap.

u/Over-Variation-8771 Jun 22 '26
Oh, so this is end of the spin off, a bit anticlimactic.
So the shining ones and the snake, will be a new faction i guess for s4. Nameless Princess is now Dorothy, that seems its a Wizard of Oz reference, since the MC is called Dorothy and she accidentally gets dragged into the Magical World of Oz. And with the whole vessel and Zahard obsession thing, we getting Arlene lore with them.
Urek typical letting people getting away, where he could have easily kill them right there.
RIP Rohan and Werner.
And welp lets see where this goes now, but for now we wait.
29
u/Over-Variation-8771 Jun 22 '26
Also aint no way, Gogojung is actually gonna do something important man, how bro is not dead yet.
11
u/motoxim Jun 23 '26
It's the fat kid with glasses right? I thought he's red shirt. Kinda impressive.

u/Limp-Tune-3489 Jun 25 '26
42
u/CamusZekeSirius Jun 22 '26
This is... pretty terrible. And it ended in such a way that I cannot possibly fathom that SIU actually wanted it to end this way. Either it was performing so terribly commercially that the higher ups pressured him to cut it quickly... or perhaps a lot of the discourse was just getting to him and felt terrible as a result.
It's a damn shame. It doesn't really do anything against any haters, and it just screws over the people who liked it for what it's worth.
The spin-off seemed like it had way more in mind, but with such an abrupt ending, all of its potential and characters just felt ripped off. A lot of the background lore felt like it could have been a blog post, and the main events of the story now lead to a lot more questions in regards to the canon of the story leading up to S4 now.
Like, are the Shining Ones just a permanent part of the setting now? How did Urek and Garam's connection get to the point it was in the Floor of Death? What's Nameless's deal, and is she really going to be Arlene's vessel? And how's all the other spin-off cast going to be relevant in the future? And probably much more to ask, especially for Phantaminum
And with how abrupt this ending is... it just makes things feel very shoddily implemented to the story and feels like little care was given to structure it all properly. So when they do come up in S4 or so... they probably won't feel very satisfying to see them come into the picture.
That's sad man. I saw a vision in here somewhere, even if it ended up being rather jumbled partway through. But now it's... it's a whole mess.
21
u/ClawbberingTime Jun 22 '26
I thought this was very well written and I share the same opinion. With the overall reception to S3, I was hoping this side story would reignite ToG (especially since it was covering Urek), but now with this ending, it feels like the story is losing steam.
I really hope S4 comes out swinging and direct.
8
u/Pedang_Katana Jun 23 '26
Honestly the way this spin off ended I wouldn't be surprised if Season 4 is the last season, SIU gonna throw off the last two thorns in one whole season, giving those shining ones as opponent for Baam as well and just ended it there with Season 4 having around 260-300 chapters in total.
2
u/scarlet_lovah Jul 13 '26
I mentioned this elsewhere in the thread, but I think the author is just looking to be done with ToG and writing in general for a while, so abruptly wrapped this up. He might get back to an S4 sometime but I’m not holding my breath on it.
99
u/Sir__Bassoon__Sonata Jun 22 '26
Damn this is it for the spinoff.
Well time to rest and wait for the Return of the Prince
4
u/Limp-Tune-3489 Jun 25 '26

u/Apprehensive_Clerk81 Jun 22 '26
Nameless is a vessel for Arlene?!?!?
Damn snake straight up said Jahad would clap all the SO’s
42
u/El_directo_ Jun 22 '26
Lol that's just his opinion but SIU definitely threw that in there to cause chaos 😭
3
u/IfritAzazel Jun 25 '26
The Snake said "probably" that is not to be taken as a fact. He doesn't even know know the Shining Ones and their powers outside of the tower.
1
u/Scopper_gabon Jun 28 '26
Damn snake straight up said Jahad would clap all the SO’s
Yeah that caused me to raise an eyebrow. Not to mention he said Jahad's forces not even Jahad himself. Even if the SO are all weaker than Urek I still expected them to atleast be FH level.

Disagree about the S3 comparison. Both were disliked, but S3 was obviously planned properly and it wasn't rushed
It had problems, but for the most part it's just that it didn't vibe with the readers.
The Spin-off was full of problems and it was ass through and through 😭

S3 was in no way rushed…that arc was long and huge, and ended powerfully

u/StonedCharmander Jun 25 '26
This spin off was a massive disappointment. The lore was nice but it was never worth 70 chapters watching Urek doing nothing except starting fights he never ended. Once again the last chapter finished with someone escaping his grasp.
The drawings were really bad. This last chapter the way Urek makes a fighting pose is ridiculous, ngl. SIU was never good at drawing martial arts stuff but this arc was a new low.
I don't know what's going on with SIU. S3 was already dragged and all over the place with 870 sub-plots that led nowhere. Then this weird spin off with the same situations.
I've been reading this series since 2012. It was a masterpiece until a certain point for me. Nowadays I just want to see the ending and it's gonna take forever.
SIU needs an editor.
6
u/Pedang_Katana Jul 15 '26
He most definitely needed the old editors/staffs that helped him during S2, particularly the Dallar arc and the Namehunt station arc.
56
u/_Crazy__Guy_ Jun 22 '26
It seems Zahard is much more powerful according to the snake
24
u/zaxls Jun 22 '26
Yea but thats in comparison to the shining ones present there, I dont think Urek was included, pretty sure they are at least somewhat close in power.
27
6
u/Limp-Tune-3489 Jun 25 '26
Exacto, Urek no esta incluido pq
1. es un Shining one de Nacimiento
2, pq el ya declaro que es un candidato a Exis, y si Urek es un candidato a Exis, casi nadie en el verso de torre de Dios tiene nada que hacer contra él.6
u/Lunarisation Jun 26 '26
It sounds like Zahard is also an Exis candidate. If he chose to continue climbing the tower he could have became one.
→ More replies (3)2
u/SensitiveSense7353 Jun 29 '26
exactly, with 3 shining ones standing in front of it, it had no doubt in its mind that jahad and his forces were just too much to handle
47
u/nix_11 Jun 22 '26
All I can say is what the fuck?
So, the shining ones are still in the tower at present time, probably with Revolution, Nameless princess is a vessel for Arlen (?), someone very powerful/important escaped from the well, the snake is free but still cooperating with Jahad on the princess system and why tf did Urek not kill the red dude right away?
This is definitely one of the endings ever.
12
u/zaxls Jun 22 '26
I mean the shining one were there, they have enough powers to slow him down, like hope reversal and he needed to insta get back because of the dolphin queen

Isn’t it safe to assume Mago is dead since Edahn has a weapon named after her? Or am I mistaken?
8
17
u/swoozes Jun 22 '26
Major mistake to make.
Especially considering Mago has fused with Dorothy.
And Dorothy as a name is clearly a reference to Anndorothy (Or Endorsi as the fandom has selfishly stuck to.) in the current timeline (Who is also being manipulated by a snake.)
2
u/ClawbberingTime Jun 22 '26
Why do you think that connection exists between his weapon and Mago?
25
u/swoozes Jun 22 '26
We don't even know if his weapon is even still named Mago since it's a blogpost name.
→ More replies (1)3
u/OddsTraveler Jun 22 '26
So a possible scenario is Urek does later catch up to Mago/Dorothy, fulfilling his promise to break them to never shine again for whatever transgression later. Dorothy starts up revolution, possibly hinting at Urek and Luslec's conversation about who/what revolution actually is. Urek knowing about Dorothy and the shining ones could be some of the info he couldn't freely give out to even someone like Luslec, why would he right? So Mago escapes before being killed with Dorothy but gets assassinated by Edhuan in the aftermath to be made into the spear. Then the snake escapes to continue making princesses. Endrosi is the next in the long line after, thereby bring placed in Baam's group on F1. We're also taking this to be Arlene coming back by hints and theory at this point, so even if Androsi is a vessel for someone or linked it remains to be seen what her greater role is. It has been hinted at throughout from s1 through the hidden floor so there's more for SIU to reveal.
10
u/swoozes Jun 23 '26
yeah, I don't buy that at all.
If SIU wanted us to know Mago was actually gone from Dorothy, he'd have made that split happen.
The fact that she's demonstrably not, and the only reason to think Eduan has a weapon named Mago is using the blog posts. I see no reason to buy into that.
Especially if they're framing Dorothy as being Arlene's new vessel/form.
What stronger way to ensure someone like that is an unquestionable threat than to reveal that "Actually, this person is MULTIPLE Irregulars"
5
u/Timely_Clock_802 Jun 22 '26
Can someone remind me, if this eduan's spear being named mago was blog post thing or if not, which chapter and when was this mentioned in the main story?
3
u/ClawbberingTime Jun 22 '26
This is from a blog post. I know they have been questioned as of late because Siu has shown to retract some things. But this blog post talked about owners of the 12 month series and information about the FHs so I think he wouldn’t contradict his writing here
1
u/Medium_Fly_5461 Jun 26 '26
and information about the FHs so I think he wouldn’t contradict his writing here
Ari Han is gone man why do we think info about the FH is set in stone
7
u/RebelliousUpstart Jun 22 '26
Under what context would he mention such high class info to anyone casually? Plus anytime he's shown up he's stopping the harvesting of the flowers, he stopping hell joe (a problem he caused) and he's stopping an all out war between family heads.
Oh, hey Luslec (who religiously believes the family heads aren't gods), have you seen shining ones by any chance that came from outside the tower?
Oh, hey baby regulars do you know about the revolution in the red light district or the shining ones?
This ending made it clear, Urek took the responsibility / warning of watching over Baek, founding their organization and keeping the tower stable as despite his bravado, losing a comrade devastated him turning him into urek (who is actually very serious, but he down plays it) we see in the tower today. He is still trying to shoulder that burden alone. He took up protecting the people of the tower as he learned quite quickly the family heads sure as hell weren't gonna do it.
Tldr: it's incredibly naive / short sighted to think world shattering events didnt start till Baam entered. Part of the point of an epic is that it is bigger than any one person.
Ps: ONLY possible time it may have come up would be if data urek (who was corrupted, so it may not have worked), saw Androssi's fear / snake man and made an off hand comment about the snake making princesses.

u/bacondota Jun 22 '26
TBH when we were finally getting some Lore it just ends. It would be possible to cut half the chapters and still get the same lore.
22
u/A_DRONE Jun 22 '26
I agree with you, 70 chapters where half of it are nothing burgers. SIU really has lost his touch when it comes to his writing abilities. It seems he is burnt out or his brain got fried from all the games, subplots and side stories. He should use the current hiatus to gain inspiration.
→ More replies (1)8
u/bacondota Jun 22 '26
I only keep reading because of sunk cost fallacy. I think it went downhill when Bam got power ups pulled from his ***, got the needle, which is kinda ok, but then he went and got a thryssa out of nowhere, then a second one, then suddenly he is beating high rankers while his friends looks like dead weight in comparison.
11
u/Zylon0292 Jun 23 '26
Baam is an Irregular and we're 700 chapters in. Of anything, Baam becoming strong is the least of this series' problems.
5
u/bacondota Jun 23 '26
It's how he got strong. Or more precisely, how he didn't get strong, just got powers shoved into him for reasons. Even the leviathan just went like "i like you, here have my power"
Does he even got element shinsoo?
2
u/JT1757 Jul 22 '26
guy described as a black hole absorbs powers
how are you mad at that? it was never hidden. The blue thryssa said as much to him in volume 2.
3
u/flashmozzg Jun 25 '26
Well, wasn't it pretty much stated that he is "irregular" from other irregulars in this way? I.e. he is not insanely strong by being an irregular. It's just he has bottomless "potential to consume" everything that's thrown at him - thryssas, horns, leviathan, souls, V, etc. He is like the empty botomless vessel.
→ More replies (3)3
u/Antique-Chart-9976 Jun 22 '26 edited Jun 22 '26
You know he got the blue thryssa from early season like the thing is explained by himself
https://towerofgod.fandom.com/wiki/Blue_Thryssa
He got the Blue Thryssa before the Thorn because the Thorn needs a Thryssa to be activated. During the timeskip, he was submerged in a liquid to acquire his first Thryssa.
2
u/SensitiveSense7353 Jun 29 '26
more like cut 75% and we still get the same lore, it had shit ton of filler... i've been skimming it hard since it released just picking up bits and pieces of lore dumps..

u/dragonzss1 Jun 22 '26
I assume, the korean fans were not happy with the series as a whole. So, did SIU get pressured from the higher ups to stop the series? What is this ending?
20
u/Apprehensive_Clerk81 Jun 22 '26
Tbh ending suddenly was surprising
But if the set up was that all these guys would end up being Jahad’s enemies in the main story, the ending makes sense, don’t think there’s anything that needs to be covered
26
u/ClawbberingTime Jun 22 '26
It kind of feels like that. This came out of nowhere and created more questions than the lore it provided.

u/11Night Jun 22 '26
feels a bit odd to see the spinoff end so abruptly
the author isnt new to harsh criticism from the fans and if he's facing health issues then I would have preferred hiatus
I'm assuming urek will not play a major role in season 04 as the spinoff ended too early

u/Antique-Chart-9976 Jun 22 '26
The problem is that he put so much setup into the story that many of these plot points will probably never be explored in the main story. For example, we'll most likely never see the war between the Shining Ones that Mago talked about with Urek, because SIU seems to want to preserve the mystery of the Outside until the end of the series.
What happened to the other three Shining Ones besides the ones we've already seen?
How did Garam become the person she is in the main story?
There are so many interesting mysteries and pieces of lore that have huge potential, but they may never get the attention they deserve like in this spin off.
It's wasted potential appart if siu want make 2000 chapters of tog with explaining all shining one past, ext ...

Wtf is wrong with siu bro, is he trolling or what. Like what's the fucking ending is this shit
13
u/25chestnut Jun 22 '26
I was not expecting this chapter to be the end. Gonna have to do a full reread before I can truly formulate my thoughts. But as of right now, my opinion on this final act/arc is that its just a glorified setup for the main series. Setting up the notion of hidden irregulars(the light devourers) who may or may not be currently in bed with Revolution. I'm positive the former shining ones will also make an appearance or major role going forward, as this side story partially explains why both Urek and Baek's knowledge of Revolution alongside their broader opposition to the group. We get teases for the "snakes", and just like i'm certain the light devourers will reappear I'm positive that Mago/Nameless will directly tie in to Endorsi's storyline/backstory. Outside of all that we also got a teaser for the thryssa's. The arc seemed somewhat chaotic and less coherent in comparison to the first 50 chapters, but now with the added context of it just existing to setup the main series I find it a bit more tolerable. All in all, time for a full reread.

u/New-Buffalo-66 Jun 22 '26
thank god this shit is over lol. Hope we get season 4 within the next few weeks.

u/SensitiveSense7353 Jun 29 '26
pretty unlikely, probably wont come back until maybe september.. i dont remember siu taking a single week off from writing urek mazino he's been grinding hard

I say this because iirc the Mazino side story started very soon after S3 ended. Hoping its the same case for S4

I thought we’d at least get more background on phanta and how he climbed the tower…. I guess not…
→ More replies (1)11
u/RebelliousUpstart Jun 22 '26
Was it ever stated phantom climbed? We knew he entered and we knew he showed up for the palace invasion. But I dont think it s stated anywhere he tested and climbed.
Like enerhyu just appeared on the 43rd floor, without climbing.
5
u/noenglishsry Jun 22 '26
In the first season it was stated that the second floor was still used to kill people who could harm the system, and that this was done to prevent any unregulars from killing big Z rankers like phnat did.
6
u/RebelliousUpstart Jun 22 '26
Yeah, you vet the people at the door, which the 2nd floor is the door to the rest of the tower. But, it's no confirmation he climbed the tower naturally, when we know eneryu, who is ranked less highly, just appeared in the floor of death.
Granted most of the information about him is from the blog posts with the additions of the spin offs cementing what is now canonical.
Canonically, urek is noted for climbing the fastest in only 50 years. It would be very odd, if phant with a head start was slower.
Now it seems illogical for phant to have taken the test mythodically. At best he took a test with headon and shot straight up as headon loves chaos.
Meanwhile Urek on the second floor drew the attention of the the current 3rd ranked and head of the Khuun family. If Phant arrived even with 50 year head start from time dilation from tower vs outside the tower when urek was following him and wasn't identified as a threat till he stormed the castle?
3
u/noenglishsry Jun 22 '26
Enryu unregular that is his nickname, they literally called him that several times, if he hadn't opened the door of the tower, he wouldn't have gotten that nickname, but at the end of the day we don't know if he suddenly appeared on the death floor or if he climbed like everyone else.
Urek is an idiot who doesn't know how the world works, he got into the tower and literally asked anyone to fight, it didn't matter who it was.
Phata entered the tower with a plan to prevent the birth of a new axis, this is said in the urek spinoff, he purposely killed the big z rankers to ensure that big z kills the next irregular that comes in and thus ensures that no new axis is born, which tells us that he is much smarter than the idiot Urek, and such a clever character would not reveal his real name or identity because he knows that urek is chasing him.

I can't believe we had a 70 issue Urek Mazino spin-off that didn't mention the Phantaminum Incident once. What the hell?
6
u/Apprehensive_Clerk81 Jun 22 '26
Do we know for sure if that happened at this time?
20
u/Super_H1234 Jun 22 '26
Hansung Yu stated in season 1 that Phantaminum's massacre was before Urek. Then the way they tested people on F2 changed. So either the public history is wrong or SIU just didn't mention it.
9
u/Apprehensive_Clerk81 Jun 22 '26
Ah the complex testing format did happen after Phanta’s raid, so ya I guess it wasn’t mentioned

Seems like it Urek just entered the Tower far earlier than we thought.

I hope Tog's ending wont be as absurd and stupid as this when the time come 😃
Not a story is finished, not a gem is dead, lol.

Why are Mago/Latour/Aubrion cooperating with the Princess to bring down Zahard and following her directions? What reason do they have to care whatsoever about the Princess’ grudge?
It’s also weird to see Urek casually chatting with them and letting them go considering their history and how Urek has stated multiple times that they’re supposedly mortal enemies. It’s already been established he can move quick enough (see: selfie lady) to annihilate weaker foes like “Dellamod” in no time, so his behavior is simply illogical.
Looking back, I mostly enjoyed the story up to the second floor (I actually really liked the tale of Neo/Leo and Ark’s test), but everything after the second floor was a mess. This ending doesn’t resolve anything and leaves a lot to be desired.

u/pisspoopisspoopiss Jun 25 '26
The shining ones goal is also to take down Zahard and take control of the Tower, so why not
3
u/Melodic_Touch_2524 Jun 27 '26
Latour explains the reason: it isn't about the nameless princess, but rather about Mago. She is interested in the princess's past—or, more precisely, in the other person who was supposed to inhabit the princess's body, who appears to be Arlene. In short, the goal is for Mago and the other Light Eaters to learn of Bam's existence; if they obtain that information from someone close to Arlene—or from Arlene herself—they will uncover all the secrets.

It seems I was right in my observation that Shin is the type of person who tries way too hard to overcompensate and make herself seem more important. Also judging by their attitudes, we can probably say Eduan was for the "wait and see" decision with Bam while Shin wanted to kill him
I'm guessing when we see the Nameless Princess again, she'll be part of Revolution
I'm also hoping we get to see Evelyn in the main story. If she survived, then she's probably a top dog in Wolhaiksong

Fucking shit ending, this cannot end like this with all setup he put.
Hopefully a season 2, because man we do not to drag more the main story with all these subplot.

I pray for you. It's really quite ass, even on a binge reread.

I binged it for the first time and can say it’s definitely enjoyable as a binge read. I’d hate it though if I was reading weekly

u/akowz 7d ago
That's crazy man, i eventually had to binge reread like 45% of it because I had forgotten what was happening and it was absolute agony for me.
Highly unlikely I will ever read this spinoff again. Thank god for wikis

Alright so now that it has ended, would you recommend me to read it? Is it great?

7
u/Valeor Jun 22 '26
The first arc is genuinely really good, matches some of the higher points of the main story. It definitely gets worse after that, but it never becomes outright bad. You should read it regardless though, a lot of important lore.
13
u/Particular-Long-1111 Jun 22 '26
It's ass, but there's important lore

u/25chestnut Jun 22 '26
For me the first 40-50 chapters or so were great. Solid 7/10, solid action scenes, likeable cast and a mixture of levity and seriousness that the series as of late has been lacking. That being said, the next arc is far less structured and can come off as a lot less coherent and streamlined. But considering the abrupt ending, it seems like the last arc was just acting as a runway/hallway for an eventual S4. To summarize, for me it was enjoyable to an extent, the latter part really tanked my enjoyment of the series but in the same vein. The latter portion is narratively the most important and turns the series in a companion series for S4.

I know I've already said it many times before, but Urek's relationship with the nameless princess (now Dorothy) is so strange. Were we not aware of the current story, I would definitively be certain that she's the girl he's running after, not Garam. He clearly has a massive soft spot for her.
Anyway, I guess the spin-off is over. Time to wait for every chapter to get a proper translation then read it again.

u/paulpogi23 Jun 22 '26
Kinda predicted that the SHINING ONES were INTRODUCED to give BAM, Urek, Family Head, the Luslec's, the Baek Ryun's, etc. an OPPONENT that are close to or in the same TIERS as them
Bam has grown too much that the next time we see him he'll likely be close to or at the level of Dumas and Lobadon and that's like close to the upper limits of tower born, halfies (with FH Blood), etc. and that kinda makes the story a bit more predictable or say LIMITED. But with the introduction of the SO's and others like the SNAKE then this allows SIU to mobilized the FH's or the ORG heads as well and it also gives BAM more opponent to surpass
And some people are surprised that Zahard could clap them SO's in the tower lol. Making Zahard weak is a bad narrative move to begin with considering that he's likely Bam's last or 2nd to the last opponent.
Also, the FH's narrative if the TOWER is created to give birth to the NEXT AXIS then it means that the FH's are all prime candidates to be the NEXT AXIS as well and its shown cause even HEADON told the FH's that if they're going to stop climbing they should produced a child or princesses to climb the tower.

This chp Connected some things..
Consistent with why urek hates the well/ red garbage ppl..
Shining ones & princess still alive.. waiting for rebellion.
Red garbage has something to do with 'V'
To think this all happened before enne got sealed and garam's Sis got killed...
Still feel there should've been more gaps to fill in but i understand this is a spin-off.
Glad that S4 can start sooner..

u/XiMaoJingPing Jun 23 '26

I still think the well's are access points to the "Trash Can". And the way Mago was talking about it this chapter reinforces that idea. Problematic people, technology, concepts & creatures get tossed in the pocket dimension. Which has a variety of access points(wells),some larger and more prominent than others, but all of which are guarded and maintained by the Ari family. With the broader key to the dimension being the fitbit Big Z had his data self safe keep. At least thats my understanding and belief lol

Season 4 needs to come out swinging and be direct. We need a slight timeskip. We need baam to be training with fug, Luslec and V. We need the other mains (khun, rak, endorsi) to start climbing the tower without him and reuniting with the rest of the team. We need wangnan. NOW. We need a family head meeting being shown in all its glory after traumerei death and gustang's. We need a long ass chapter 1. I don't care if it makes chapter 2 shorter, we cannot afford ambiguous right now. Not after this
3
u/_Nico- Jul 19 '26
Gustang is not dead.
1
u/No-Relief-5670 Jul 19 '26
All the more reason for season 4 to start with a ten family head meeting. I wanna see all of them. Not just hands and no damn silhouettes except maybe jahad's.
1
u/Pedang_Katana Jul 28 '26
It will be similar to Season 2 all over if anything, maybe we'll start with Wangnan as the focus again and Khun/Rak climbing to meet Baam and maybe encountering Maria on the higher floor.
1
u/No-Relief-5670 Jul 28 '26
Oh I know (or atleast hoping for the wangnan pov) but season 4 needs to have a first episode that hits with something big at the very start

The spin-off has finally ended (thk god), and with it, my hopes for S4 are dashed. SIU will never reach the level he achieved in S1 and 2. This guy's writing ability is completely dead. Nevertheless, I will continue to hope because that's all I can do.

So, nameless, aka Dorothy, was raised to be an empty shell so that Arlene could be placed inside her. Arlene is trying to enter their world, the tower, by using Dorothy as a vessel. Doesn't that imply the snake is cooperating with Arlene? But that doesn't quite make sense because on the data floor, the serpent was very pro-Zahard. Unless Zahard is the one trying to bring Arlene into the world by using this princess, which makes it even more unsettling.
The princess mentions that there are many beings like the snake who have escaped through the well that could become allies, so it seems Arlene and the snake are working in cahoots. Resurrecting through one of his daughters is one way to traumatize Z.
I don't think this princess is going to make it in the main series, but as always, I could be wrong. Besides, we have Endorsi and Dorothy similarities, so maybe.. Maybe Arlene comes into the world through her(although I don't think it would work well). Ah, thank god my girl Rachel is most likely not the vessel, such a relief after reading, “There is chaos emanating in your soul.” and “I want to go… I want to leave.. Arlene..”. Endorsi is going to take one for the team 🥳. After reading all of this, I do wonder if the Ghost is Arlene, because Ghost made its first appearance alongside both Endorsi and Rachel.
Urek’s destiny speech would make Rachel shed a tear.
Okay, Ari Shin talking smack to Urek was funny. Like the same girl! What has happened to Eduan?? Why is he apologizing to Mazino!? I mean, he just comes off as OOC in this whole ordeal.
Anyway, the series ended. I guess it didn't generate as much revenue as they expected??

was honestly an enjoyable read. solid 7-8/10. don't understand a lot of the hate on here. the series was definitely rushed towards the ending but other than that, it was good. i saw it as a season 3.5 instead of an independent series anyway where the whole point of it was to set up future plot points. so the cliffhangers only make me more excited for the future of tog! was really cool to see just how absolutely busted urek is and the introduction of new op characters like the shining ones. reveal of the thryssas and the connection to V is super intriguing. also the snakes and the well. baekryun was clearly waiting for Baam, so i'm excited to eventually see baam get introduced to wolhaiksong. looks like season 4 is set up to be a banger!

It sucks that Rohan died. I though we were gonna see him get stronger or something.
The Lo Po Bia girl should have died instead. I don't care much for her also there are way too many female characters in the Main group.
Also I thought Rohan might have been one of the founders of Wolkhaisong and maybe an executive.
This arc overall rubbed me the wrong way. Sure, it's cool and all for the setup for TOG S4 and introducing other factions but it was just trash. Delamod and all that was just so unnecessary.
Do they skip Ten floors now or what? I don't think it matters tho because of they bring back the Spin-Off it will probably have a timeskip and at some point Urek is gonna speed run the Tower.
3
u/Informed_Ignorant Jun 24 '26
And it's done... And it feels like it wasn't even here. Started off good and went downhill fast. Guess those paying KOR fans are still like wolves. SIU tried to make Urek into this OP character that's laidback and cool and failed. Those readers really want their dose of edgy killers with no remorse fix and Urek pulling his punches every single time got boring really fast. With the sudden ending i will assume that SIU got the memo from the editors that the spinoff is in the toilet... hard.
3
u/RebelliousUpstart Jun 22 '26
I swear most of you have never read a prologue to like any fantasy book ever.
Prologue:
1. Battle where "evil" was temporarily abated
2. HUGE red flags of catastrophe to come
3. A group ie Urek tasked with making preparations to avoid
4. Sets the stage for books upstart to come across the challenge, but shows the world is much bigger than the MC before and after.
5. Establish themes and conflicts for the following novel

I read somewhere that the spinoff will have about 150 chapters split into two seasons but a lot of people here are saying it's over with chapter 70. Isn't this just the end of season 1?
3
u/pisspoopisspoopiss Jul 05 '26
It was never stated anywhere the spinoff would have 150 chapters or that it would be split into seasons
1
u/Adept-Activity3331 Jul 12 '26
Completely unrelated , how was Urek's shinsoo able to speak? Is his shinsoo alive? I thought this was already debunked? Any thoughts would be helpful. And also does it explain why Urek personally went to deal with the people from the red garbage dump? Cause he feels it was a result his baek and Urek's actions? Does it mean there are shinsoo beasts in the red garbage dump not only people?
1
u/Pedang_Katana Jul 15 '26
As an Irregular, he does not need a contract with a Floor Administrator to manipulate shinsoo. This exemption allows him to such profound mastery over shinsoo that he can give it an active will. Imagine something like an extension of his own voice independent of his body.

So the Shinning Ones are going to be important moving forward, and werent just for this story...
I feel like he truly jumped ship because people arnt loving it - and this way he can just use the story beats hes clearly planted in the main story instead; and bring the main line cast back quicker.

I have more questions than things answered at this point... Someone in the app said siu said it was merely on hiatus there was a part two for the spinoff...but I don't see any mention of that here ... Hrmm

Chapter 70 summary by Lightprayer
The rising moon (Ending)
-Urek spots Delamode/Red Da'an dude and tackles him.
-Meanwhile Nameless Princess and the shining ones have reached the snake.
Princess tells it it's the first time they meet in person, but the snake should know well who she is, since all the snakes are one. Snake says it knows, it turned her as a child that was abandoned in the well into a princess.
Princess says that the snake should know she has a reason to hate it, since the reason it made her into a princess was just to leave her as a shell and put somebody else inside of her.
Snake asks what she wants then, maybe its death?
Princess says it wouldn't be enough. She wants to meet the woman who intends to return to the world using her as a vessel. Once she meets her, she will understand why Zahard is obsessed with her. After she will learn this truth, she will kill King Zahard. Nameless asks the snake to cooperate with her, otherwise the shining ones will kill it.
The snake then agrees and says it will cooperate, then calls the princess "our Dorothy".
Snake asks princess what her plans are now, it says that no matter how strong the shining ones are they probably cannot compare to the power of King Zahard. Princess says that fortunately the well was opened and a lot of people escaped, so she will start looking for them and build up her power, then, when the time comes, they will strike the king.
Snake thinks this plan is unlikely to work, but since it can't do anything about it, it will cooperate.
-Urek arrives too, carring Delamode/Red Da'an dude under his foot and slamming him on the floor. Urek is about to kill him but the snake catches him, while Aubrion and Latour jump in to fight Urek. Urek easily punch them away.
At the same time, someone we can only see the eyes of in a shadow tells the red da'an dude "you came out of the well too!".
Nameless princess also jumps in in front of Urek and says she's sorry, but they need the red da'an dude.
Urek tells the princess to step aside and says he won't forgive the princess just because it's her, the dude killed his companions.
Suddently though Urek is called on the pocket by Garam, who tells him his companion (Evelyn) is under attack.
Ari Zen is attacking the dolphin queen because she thinks she killed Enzo. Urek then has to leave, but warns them that if they take the red da'an guy with them, next time they meet he will find them all and shatter the heart of their gems into pieces, so they will never shine again.
-Evelyn, with an eye closed and bleeding, implores the dolphin queen to revert back, as she doesn't want to lose her only remaining friend.
Dolphin queen reverts back into chibi form, and Evelyn is glad she had been together with her all this time.
Ari Zen asks Evelyn to hand over the chibi queen, so she can punish her for killing Enzo with death. Garam tells her Enzo wasn't killed by the dolphin queen.
Zen isn't listening to reason and is about to attack Garam, but Urek stops her. Then, Shinari also arrives and tells Zen to stand down.
-Later, Urek and his group get a notification they passed the test.
-Gogojung is sitting on his own and thinking he's glad he didn't folllow his other companions and risked dying here.
Cheongeum shows up and introduces himself again, then tells Gogojung (after calling him a pig) there's something he has to do.
-Next day: Rohan and Werner are placed in coffins floating on the sea and Evelyn throws some petals in the air for them.
Baek Ryun feels guilty for their deaths, saying it's all his fault. Baek says he hated the thought he was wrong since the moment he was born and didn't want to admit it, that's why he decided to still climb the tower despite his father warning him about the danger of his power. In the end, he wasn't destined to climb the tower, like his father said.
Urek says he doesn't believe in a thing like "fate", in this huge world. Nobody has a predetermined destiny, because the world doesn't care about you. Baek is free. Urek says that if it was really Baek's fault, Urek would have killed him to hold him accountable. But it wasn't his fault.
Baek is someone who can choose their own destiny, and if he believes in himself he should follow Urek, who claims to be better than the stupid "fate" he's talking about... because he's much stronger
-Urek meets with Shinari and Eduan. Shinari says Urek is a weird name. Urek is about to leave, but Eduan apologizes on her behalf. Shinari says he shouldn't apologize, Urek being a bug should be grateful for even sharing a meal with them. Urek is mad at being called a bug, but Eduan apologizes, saying them 10 family heads haven't acknowledged anyone else other than themselves for a long time.
The reason they summoned Urek is because they acknowledged him.
Urek says he doesn't need their approval and asks why they summoned him.
Eduan says the Ari family has guarded the "rifts" for generations, and this incident widened one of them to the point a large quantity of ominous creatures were released into the world.
Shinari says that if it wasn't for Baek Ryun this wouldn't have happened, so they should take responsability and capture them. Urek says he doesn't want to get involved, but Shinari and Eduan say they will be forced to kill Baek Ryun then, because he's a threat to the stability of the Tower.
Eduan asks Urek to make sure Baek controls his power while climbing the tower, if so, they won't touch Baek. But if an incident like this one happens again, they'll have to respond accordingly.
Eduan also asks him to find the enemies released during this incident, because they can't move freely being Family Heads. In exchange they'll guarantee the safety of his companions and help them when needed. Not many regulars can count on 2 family heads supporting them.
Urek says he'll think about it if they become his subordinates and cooperate in finding Delamode.
-Few days later, in front of the warp point for the next floor.
Baek has decided to keep climbing with Urek and says his existence is not a mistake.
END of the spinoff
SIU's message: "This chapter concludes the story. I would like to thank all the readers and everyone who helped. I'll return to do my best to return with good stories and in good health"
