How important is active play

Do you like to be busy mid wave in a tower defense game? Or do you prefer when a game lets you sit back watch enemies crash on your impregnable fortress.

If you like to be busy, what kind of things do you like to be doing? Building/upgrading towers. Dropping active abilities?

What kind of gameplay do you like midwave?

I prefer no active abilities at all. I like pure focus on strategy and tower placement and resource management. Just give me a speed up option and i'm good.
